I have been coming to this establishment for a while now and have never had a problem with the food and sevice! Today I stop in before heading to work for the day I was a bit disappointed in the service I received from the staff because the fact is a sevicer watch me come in and I seated myself in the back room she stated that she would be right with me and never came back then another family came in the same room thats when one of the other sevicer came back and seen me and took my order then after that a few more came back and the lady got pissed because the fact I was sitting a the little 2 person table waiting for the sever to bring me food to me and not after not once did another of the staff members come back to check on me and never got me check I waited and waited It got to the point I literally got up and went to the front corner the pay my bills and the poor mood the lady that took my card fir the bills could have been a bit more positive! I as work in a retail restaurant and being a volunteer firefighter here in the Twp for always 8 to 10 years now and I tell my staff of both establishment the customers and community come first and to always be in a positive respectful matter towards everybody no matter what the situation is! Hopefully the staff in this establishment can do a bit better with the service to their customers that come and go! I could not help but to take notice of the service! Please do not take me wrong or get a fended or take this message the wrong way I just wanted...
Read moreAs a pretty generous reviewer, this one pains me. Always eager to try a new breakfast spot, the Gilchrist always looks busy as can be when I drive past (not being from South Jersey, it isn't often). Me and my family decided it was finally time to see what all the hub-bub was about... I am confused. I had ordered from the "specials" board the Cheddar Spinach and Crab Omelet, my wife picked up the Peach Hotcakes also on the specials. My omelet arrived smaller than expected, and it looked like it was made in one of those "Pampered Chef" Omelet pans. Very form fit, with right angles. I also received roughly 7-8 large pieces of potato, which I assume were my home fries. My wife's hotcakes, which should have been blasted with the flavors of peach, were extremely bland. I had to try a bite, with the assumption that her taste buds just weren't awake yet... but I concurred. I wouldn't have put this as a 3 star review... until I got the check. Now I expect 11 bucks for some bland hotcakes isn't terrible, but 18 bucks for my meager omelet was ridiculous. If you put the prices on the specials board, I suspect nobody would have ordered it. Even if you used the same amount of lobster, or caviar, it wasn't worth $18. I will not be returning, and that 3rd star was because I cannot condemn a place...
Read moreThe Galloway Gilchrist has the worst service. 5 waitresses “working” and know one acknowledged us after giving us the menu. We sat for 10mins before stopping a waitress who was refilling everything to see if we could get some service, after noticing other people that came after us were being waited on. We told her how displeased we were, she was nonchalant so we decided to leave. We called to complain to the manager/owner and he was rude as hell. I guess my money is no good at that particular Gilchrist, I will never ever set foot in that place and I will let other people know not to go there. The Gilchrist in the inlet has the most pleasant waitresses, I will go there instead. I expect good service when I’m spending my money and...
