I like the atmosphere of this place and the fact that it is right across the street from the bus stop I get off at to meet my sister when we hang out. I have eaten here 3 times and enjoyed the food, drinks, and prices. HOWEVER, all 3 times, the servers and bartenders have been DISGUSTINGLY RUDE to me, my sister, and another friend one of the times we brought her along. We were quiet and cordial and yet the staff seemed VERY friendly to everyone else but us. The last time I visited, will be my last time there period. I came alone and 20 mins into my visit, I started having an asthma attack. I had only received my coffee and was awaiting my chicken fingers. I knew I had to leave so I politely asked my server if I could have my meal to go because I was having an asthma attack and needed to leave. I was met with the worst attitude I have EVER experienced in any establishment. She rolled her eyes, said, "FINE!" swiped my coffee away from me and slammed the check down on the table. I took a few puffs of my inhaler and she laughed at me. She threw the chicken fingers on the table along with a food box. She didnt even bother to box it up for me!!!!! I left exact change with no tip and hurried out of there. SHEESH!!! Damn, lady, plenty of people out there...
Read moreThis was my first time ever at Mcgettigan's and I was extremely disappointed. First, our sweet bartender, and she was really nice and attentive, short-poured my drink by a third. When a top shelf liquor is ordered "neat", or "up" as we called it years ago, it is poured as a 6 count. The bartender measured my cognac with a shot glass, I didn't order a shot, a shot is a 4 count. This is obviously house policy, so I dont necessarily fault her 100%, her personality made a difference here. My wife ordered a crab mac and cheese which was IN NO WAY, SHAPE OR FORM, a mac and cheese. Although it did contain a good amount of claw meat, it was just topped with a thin layer of cheese and melted. The rest of it was a lemon butter sauce similar to what might be called a scampi sauce. It was really disgusting and a gross misrepresentation of a great dish. Go check out Vagabonds crab mac, or better yet, I'll show you how to make it. Other than that, nice atmosphere and...
Read moreAfter our caddying, playing, and long day of practice of our 1st round of golf, we went to McGettigans because it was close and we were hungry. Our waitress Belle was Awesome, attentive with us and with everyone else who was outside the restaurant. The best part of the night was when the guys who call themselves "Fans of Doyle" came over to eat and drink with everyone ... These are the guys who cheer the players on the 17th hole... They are crazy fun.. They have been doing this for the past 10yrs and hope to continue the journey... We also make time to come here every year when the tour is in town and of course, caddying at the LPGA Shoprite Tournament
We are back this year.....!!!! 😀...
