Maybe Fall isn’t the best time to visit and Spring or Summer would be better but I don’t think I had a decent enough experience for 5 stars. We didnt do the tasting experience since they dont offer it on Mondays so maybe that would be better but I don’t think we want to drive another hour to be disappointed a 2nd time. Food overall 3/5, red snapper dish 5/5 Service 1/5, outside seating area 2/5 (because of bugs)
My experience: My fiancé and I drove 1 hr and visited Renault for the first time for a birthday and to get a taste/idea of the place to see if we would consider Renault for our wedding. We definitely wont be having our wedding here and probably wont be back in general. Taste 1864: Upon arrival on Mon 11/11/24, we ate at Taste 1864 and the service was terrible. The waitress was slow and inattentive. We got 2 of the flights with champagne, 2 starters, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts and she never offered or gave us water. She took so long getting back to us to order each course and never cleared the 2 flights of glasses from our table (that were mostly all finished prior to getting our entrees). She was friendly/nice but that doesn’t make good service. There was only 1 other couple there so Im not sure why she was so slow as if they were busy. She stood at the other table with the other couple talking for a long time while we waited like 20 minutes. We sat outside and although the ambiance is relaxing (just because it’s the outside) there were knats and flies swarming all around us at our table, landing in our wines. It was disgusting and I couldn’t finish my wine. We were also very disappointed to find out that there was no Happy Hour on Mon and Tues although the website said otherwise. Besides the website not providing updated, accurate information the menu selection was very small and different than what we expected. The food however, wasnt bad. The squash soup was good but could use more flavor. The caesar wedge salad was disappointing because it was listed in a way more fancy/fluffed up way and not listed as a wedge. It was a basic wedge salad with basic caesar dress.. which it didnt have enough of. The chicken schnitzel was a thick fried chicken breast and not as thin as expected but decent. The red snapper with lentils was delicious but the burned the Brussel sprouts were disappointing. The apple dessert on puff pastry was delicious and perfectly portioned for 1 person. The chocolate cake was basic but strawberry syrup helped a little; some warm fudge drizzled on top or inside would have made it better. The desserts both came out room temperature which was a let down but they were still good. Overall, wouldn’t be in a...
Read moreI spent the weekend celebrating my Bachelorette with 15 of my friends at the Renault Winery property and truly had the best experience. Everyone we came in contact with was so helpful and kind- our entire weekend was great! We started with charcuterie and wine tasting by the fire pits on Friday night with wonderful service by Jeremy that eventually led us inside to a table for some more snacks and drinks. The hostess, Selma, was so accommodating and welcoming and made us feel like royalty every time we walked into the restaurant (which was multiple times throughout our stay). Her bright smile greeted us every time and she truly seemed happy to see us! Stef and Emily were fantastic during our wine tour and tasting in the champagne glass collection room - we had everything we needed including the dietary-restricted menu items for two of our party guests. We saw Stef again on Sunday at brunch and she was attentive and friendly again and took extra time to make sure that our gluten free guests were attended to. Saturday night dinner was served by Jackie who was fun and exactly what we needed! She matched our vibe perfectly and when we wanted to move outside for dessert, made it happen. For the entire weekend, every drink we had, every bite we took, every corner of the property we saw- was impressive and pleasing. I have nothing but good things to say! I can’t wait to come back. THANK YOU for a wonderful...
Read moreThis place is absolutely gorgeous. 10/10 for atmosphere for sure. My husband and I went for lunch to celebrate our anniversary and I don't think we could've chosen a better spot. Being so close to home is such a bonus!! Service was great as well. Super attentive but not overly so if that makes sense.
For lunch we started with the ceasar salad and dipping board. I could eat that ceasar all day! May try to ask for some grilled chicken or something on there for protein next time. The shaved parm on there is everything! My favorite dip was the spreadable French cheese but we devoured them all! My husband combined the cheese with the onion/bacon dip and said that was an incredible combo too.
For mains I had the chicken sandwich & my husband had the smash burger. Fries weren't all that great. I will probably opt out of those next time & try something else. My favorite part of the chicken sandwich was the balsamic drizzle in there. I would have loved more of that and less of the roasted red pepper spread. My husband enjoyed his burger. He added a fried egg as well.
We grabbed the cheesecake for dessert and O...M...G!! I am actually speechless. 11/10 for the dessert. I almost wish we ordered 2 so I wouldn't have had to share! Lol. We will be back and hopefully soon. Thank you for making our anniversary lunch...
