Tony's Place — Restaurant in Galt

I can assure you, despite what the Google ratings may suggest, that this place is definitely a 3.

A 4-star restaurant carries Pelegrino, and a 5-star restaurant serves it to you and pours your glass while holding it in a towel. This restaurant does neither so it cannot be greater than 4-stars.

Food was ok. 3-starish. A1 and condiments on the table suggest that seasoning may be lacking (it was).

The restaurant also only takes cash, and makes you withdraw from an ATM machine when you want to pay with card…. A little bit sketch but 🤷🏻‍♂️

Our waitress was very nice though.

Edit to respond to owner: I’m not new to the Delta, in fact, I traveled to your restaurant via Jet Ski 😎. I am also not new to eating delicious cuisine from around the globe, and I can assure you, despite your perceived “historical relevance” that everything about your establishment is three-star.

It’s ok to have 3-star restaurants around. If you didn’t exist, I wouldn’t really be able to enjoy a 5-star meal. We need to be reminded of what true quality is by dining in places such as yours. I definitely will maybe be back if the Mexican place is closed. 😁

Today, I called and an older lady Caucasian answered and I said, "may I speak to someone that speak spanish" just to get the order correctly. A little back story, I called days prior and spoke to Spanish cooking gentleman ; he was very helpful (jose) and made a decent order for my workers that we very much enjoyed. Today! I'll name her BETTY, answered the phone and I said the same thing as the first time "can I speak to a Spanish speaking person please"? She said, who? I said, Spanish speaking person like the cook. Betty then said "who? Jose?!" I said, yes. She then proceeded to say, "ugh, I have an American cook today and he is an American who speaks English and since YOU are in America you also should learn English!!, as a gentleman, all I said was thank you and disconnected. If she treated me, a customer like that I can't imagine how she treats everyone else! I took my money to another local pizza place and my workers had a decent lunch today.

Quaint place. Dive-bar vibe with good food and a staff you can tell loves each other like family, maybe even better than family. stopped by randomly while on a bike ride along the river and found this local spot to be a good stop for chilling and grabbing lunch. We may not rush to go back, but not opposed to going back at all and I'd like to try more lunch items. We both tried the suggested Philly-Dip and my girlfriend, who eats like a bird, finished every bite of this 8" stuffed sandwich. Staff was fun, talkative and accommodating, even turned on music for us outside upon request.
