Island Cafe — Restaurant in Galveston

I stumbled across this place as a tourist years ago and fell in love with their pecan brewed coffee. I’m a coffee lover purist and drink it black so I can tell you how much natural pecan flavor comes through the beans they use! It was always something I looked forward to when I would drive thru. I now live here full-time so I get the pleasure of having them to myself year-round, as well as getting to know how wonderful the owners are!! They truly care about their customers and the quality they receive. I tell all the guests that come through The 409 Bolivar Beach Hotel about them (just two blocks away from The Island Cafe) to give them a try. No one ever regrets it! They are a super-convenient, drive-thru coffee shop that also serve hot, delicious food items that are perfect to pick up and take back to your rental property or drive two minutes to take the beach to enjoy! (My favorite way to enjoy it…breakfast, coffee with a view!) As I stated, I HIGHLY recommend their pecan coffee, but have also sampled their new Colombian coffee as well and it was simply Divine! We waited in line for over 45 minutes for two coffees and two breakfast sandwiches. While the food was very good, the long wait took away from our experience. Unfortunately, they don’t accept call-ahead orders, and we noticed quite a few people leave the line while we waited. Since we were already committed, we ended up spending much of our morning in the drive-through instead of enjoying the beach before heading home. The food itself is tasty, but in our opinion, the wait time is simply too long for what’s offered. We hope the owners can find a way to improve efficiency, as this could make the experience much more enjoyable. For now, we personally wouldn’t return, but with some improvements, this could be...

The huge fresh made biscuits were 5 star worthy by themselves but the customer service just took it over the top. Delicious bulk breakfast for my family vacation. We got hash browns,eggs,and those Delicious biscuits. Everything was hand delivered up those tall beach house stairs and was piping hot. The gentlemen that delivered set up the food on the counter without us even asking and we're just super polite. The lady who answered the phone, the manager/owner who took the order and the guy who took my payment info we're all very sweet and patient as I didn't know the menu and wasn't sure what I was gonna get before ordering.
