Venue 5/5 Drinks 5/5 Seating 4/5 Outlets 4/5 Seating 4/5 Loudness 2/5
tl;dr I recommend the place if you want a cute family hangout or quick, relaxing stop. Not as great for chronic studiers like myself during the weekend and some weekday afternoons. Honestly, used to be a 5/5 study spot for me but I just can't get over some of the noise level issues.
Pros: Overall a beautiful location in Galveston. The surrounding community is a nice, relaxing neighborhood with different color houses surrounding a large pond. Outside seating is fantastic and recently renovated with extra seating overlooking the water. If you're looking to relax with a cup of coffee or a nice smoothie, this is the place! Great for families and meeting up with a friend to hang out. I personally love the chocolate, peanut butter, and banana smoothie. They also have lots of seasonal options.
Cons: I have been coming to this coffee shop for about 3 years now. At first I came about once a week but I have recently been coming way less. The main reason is that the coffee shop has become way more rowdy over the past year or so. If you are looking to study or work, it can get really loud on the weekends and some afternoons. Most weekends have events outside with many activities going on and sometimes loud speakers. Neighborhood kids and family like to spend time here which is great, but just not the best environment for working. I like conversational noise while working and always have ear buds in, but lately the noise level has gotten so bad I can't concentrate...
Read moreI came to this coffee shop today and unfortunately had a disappointing experience with one of the staff members, Camila. From the moment I ordered my drink, her energy and attitude felt off — she seemed irritated and kept giving me uncomfortable looks.
When I tried to sit at a table that had an outlet so I could get some work done, she told me that area wasn’t open to customers. I explained there were no other seats with outlets available, and all she said was “sorry,” in a tone that felt dismissive, like she didn’t care or want to help.
At that point, I didn’t even feel comfortable staying anymore. I had just ordered a matcha and ended up leaving it there untouched. I could’ve asked for a refund, but honestly, I didn’t even want to bother — the whole experience just left a bad feeling.
I truly wanted to enjoy my time here, but the lack of kindness and basic customer care made it hard to feel welcome. I understand we all have bad days — maybe she was having one today — and I genuinely hope she finds some love, peace, or joy soon, because energy like that doesn’t come from nowhere.
Hopefully management helps ensure all customers are treated with more warmth and understanding...
Read moreThe only thing good about this place is the atmosphere and if you like “sugary” drinks. Today I ordered a plain cortado. It came out burnt, milk was steamed too hot and aerated too much.. it was so hot it not only burnt the crap out of my tongue with one sip, but I could barely hold the cup and it was double layered. The barista girls behind the counter remade my drink but never apologized for the bad drink, which is fine. However they could have at least followed up to see if the remake was better. I used to recommend this place all the time for the location and study space. But I am hesitant to recommend this to anyone again. The lack of professionalism, interpersonal skills, and concern for others left me unimpressed. Oh and the second drink was served out the bar with water all over the lid from the barista extra sanitary right! It’s the small details that matter, and if you don’t care why do I want to spend my hard earned money here when anywhere else on the island would be better. Out of all the coffee places I have frequented on the island this is the worst experience I...
