Title: Disappointing Experience at Tipsy Turtle

Rating: ★★☆☆☆

Date of Visit: July 15, 2023

I recently visited Tipsy Turtle with my friend Grayson, and unfortunately, our experience left much to be desired. We had high expectations for the evening, but it fell short in several areas.

Firstly, the service was incredibly slow. It took a considerable amount of time before a server even acknowledged our presence, and once we placed our orders, the wait for our drinks and food seemed endless. This lack of attentiveness made us feel neglected and unimportant as customers.

Moreover, the attitude of some staff members was disappointing. While not everyone was unfriendly, there were a couple of instances where we encountered rude behavior. Grayson asked a simple question about the menu, and the response from one particular staff member was dismissive and borderline condescending. Such interactions definitely dampened the overall atmosphere of the place.

Additionally, the cleanliness of the restaurant left much to be desired. The tables appeared sticky, and we noticed empty glasses and plates piling up on nearby tables, seemingly untouched for quite some time. This lack of attention to basic cleanliness and table maintenance was off-putting and made us question the overall hygiene standards.

It's disheartening to leave a negative review, as we genuinely wanted to enjoy our time at Tipsy Turtle. The potential of the establishment is evident, given its great location and concept. However, the lack of attentive service, the occasional rude demeanor of staff members, and the subpar cleanliness make it difficult for me to recommend this place wholeheartedly.

I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for the management. Addressing these issues could significantly improve the overall customer experience at Tipsy Turtle. We sincerely hope that future patrons will have a more positive experience than we did.

Note: As a reviewer, it's essential to remain truthful and respectful in your feedback. This example highlights some of the issues without resorting to personal attacks or emotional language, while still providing valuable feedback for the...

I recently visited Tipsy Title Seaside Bar and Grill and wanted to share my experience. While there were aspects of the establishment that I enjoyed, there were also some notable areas that left room for improvement.

Let's start with the positives. The drinks at Tipsy Title Seaside Bar and Grill were undeniably good. The young man who cashed us out suggested a drink for my husband and we appreciated his efforts.

However, there was an incident that left a negative impression. During our visit, I witnessed the manager on duty addressing an issue with an employee in a rather unprofessional manner. Discussing concerns about a team member "stealing from her" should have been handled privately, away from the patrons.

My biggest issue was the understaffing in the kitchen during a busy time. When we visited on the week of the Fourth of July, there seemed to be only one cook working who was also bringing out the food. As a result, our take out order for a party of six took well over an hour to be served. Unfortunately, I found a dead bug inside of the bag with our food containers. This prolonged wait and extra guest was beyond disappointing and inconvenienced our group.

On a positive note, the establishment has a beautiful view of the ocean. However, I was disappointed to find that the bar top seating was covered in bird droppings. It’s the ocean, so I get the seagulls, etc. However, bird droppings and spilt ketchup/food should be handled more routinely instead of a snarky sign that reads “your mom’s not here, clean your own mess”. This oversight detracted from the overall experience as we waited for our food.

In summary, lower your...

The only entrance is a mile-long ramp and a set of inaccessible stairs boarded up. Who would have thought that had any meaning?

I was heading to host an event at another bar down the road but my maps kept telling me I was wlat the correct location. Doubtful, I decided to still double check with staff. As I searched for an entrance, I found 2 elderly ladies looking at the gauntlet in front of them and dropping their eyes. One was in a wheelchair and the other was clearly not strong enough to tackle the gladiator course before her. I overheard one say I wish we could have seen the beach. Knowing that they were no match for the soft dunes either. I politely offered to push her up this, envy of Tony Hawk, ramp, and all its switchbacks telling her" Hold on it's a Rollercoaster." When we reached the summit of Mt. Pocket Oark 2, The older lady in the chair pointed to a spot at the railing. I looked down to say goodbye and noticed eyes full of joy. If I hadn't realized what was going on at exactly that moment, these two women may have gone back home without getting to see the beautiful view from Tipsy Turtle Deck. I pulled a sweet server to the side and asked her to promise me she'd take excellent care of them, told her their names, and requested she guarantee to safely get them both backdown. She agreed without hesitation even though it was less than 5 minutes till the kitchen close and ran right over to welcome them.

So thank you TT staff for your walkway to heaven because without it we couldn't have made those two women's day.

See you thought it was a complaint. When it was a great series of moments that fell into...

I’m really sorry but Galveston has this bad reputation and I understand why. This restaurant by the beach was completely horrible. Very dirty, tables, chairs, everything was dirty. Because they are in front of the beach and they have food, birds come to eat left overs and they poop everywhere including the tables where you are going to eat!!! Seriously very disgusting. We were very hungry and we decided to order something fast and we had potato tots, shrimp and wings. Well, they can be done wrong too, the tater tots were just fried cornstarch, no potatoes inside, they were also burned and it didn’t make any sense that they fried that with no potatoes inside. The shrimp was almost the same, we could verily taste the shrimp, and the wings were so little and so greasy. Everything was really bad. On top of that, the poop on the tables and nobody clean that. The bathrooms were also very nasty. I wish Galveston had a nice place to go, clean and good food by the beach. It is worth it to pay a little more, when the place is clean and the food is at least decent. You can see in the picture, poop and the fried cornstarch....

Did you see this fancy place while driving down the road towards Jamaica Beach and thought to yourself “Boy, that Turtle place looks nice!”? Well, let me tell you - don’t even bother. We went there to grab some seaside grub and spent over two hours waiting on a basic Shrimp Po Boy with fries and a beer (which cost over $20 for those two things), but when it arrived it was cold to the touch with the world’s worst onion rings. There were multiple families who entered after us and left before us that should have thrown a number of red flags for us. I guess we were just optimistic. When we asked about a refund we were told to call the next day. Again, don’t bother. There’s a Golden Corral a few miles down the road. Edit: I read a few reviews below and it is absolutely obvious they are fake. Some woman called the restaurant to verify a previous employee was disgruntled before exclaiming her undying satisfaction for everything? Okay, good one!

Nope! We went while COVID-19 was still a thing and the city and state required everyone to wear masks. Bartenders weren’t wearing masks, there wasn’t a sanitizing station and we had to ask for sanitizer which the bartender had to hunt around for. The bathrooms had soap but no towels and the dryers were broken. Also they had menus in plastic sleeves instead of paper menus that are only supposed to be used once. Unfortunately we ordered then noticed all of this. I watched the bartender rub her nose and then pick up customer orders and drinks and hand them to people. Pizza was good, alligator ok. On the flip side there’s a nice view. Just probably don’t go there during a pandemic.
