Causeway Grill — Restaurant in Garden City

We chose Causeway for dinner tonight to experience another restaurant in our neighborhood. We were extremely disappointed. I believe it's a fun bar but the food is just that-food that you want when you're drunk and don't care. We ordered appetizers bc we were hungry and they were busy so we thought having something to snack on would be a good plan. Well appetizers came out with the meal and based on the cold temperature of the fries - they were the last thing cooked. The entire concept of an appetizer was missed. Our fries were cold. The philly cheese steak had two small slices of cheese and the steak wasn't seasoned. The Mac and cheese bites are made with the kraft easy Mac Mac and cheese. And the ranch was horrible - either low fat or just a bad brand. All around it wasn't a good experience on the food side. Our drinks were cold and tasted good so they're doing great on the bar side. Servers were nice but very busy and didn't have the capacity to spend the time needed with their tables. Everyone was also stuffed in one corner so on top of loud music and people talking you couldn't have a conversation...

On a whim, my husband, friends and I stopped in for dinner. My intention was to stay at the rental house as much as possible during this vacation and avoid having someone push me around in the wheelchair. They insisted I get out and this is where they rolled me. Couldn’t be happier. They seated us immediately, asked if I needed special seating since all the chairs are tall. Not an issue for me to switch from the wheelchair to the chair but I can see how this could potentially be an issue for others. However, I didn’t get a good look at the entire place to see if there were lower/standard tables and chairs.

All four of us were very impressed with the food, including my chef friend. I had the Chicken Parmesan and he had a Stromboli. The service was amazing. Kelsey S. was our server. She was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, prompt and appropriately attentive. I Highly recommend stopping by for a sit down meal. I was in such a hurry I started eating before taking the picture but the dishes all arrived a lot nicer than...

5-19-23 Grouper Bites. I got 2 pieces of fish, that if you put them together they might've made a piece just a tad bigger than a pack of cigarettes. It was Good, but not much fish for your money. Beer was cold and service was awesome. (Thanks Lauren)

5-18-22 Boneless wings were like breaded before they were frozen, and hard as a rock after cooking. Probably won't do that again. Beer was cold and atmosphere good. (Thanks Blair)

((There's a big difference between crispy and hard as a rock. Mine were hard as a rock. What are you tossing them in, mortar ?))

10-1-21 I've been coming here for years. Doesn't matter if I come here for vacation, fishing, or Bike Week. I always make it a point to visit the Causeway Grill & Raw Bar. Food, drinks, and service are usually always top shelf. Sometimes on a busy night during Bike Week you might need to have a little patience, but...
