Came by on a Saturday night around 8pm with my family. There was literally one other table being occupied in the building and good, because seating is limited. We ordered the calamari, the golden mango roll, the shrimp tempura roll, chicken pad Thai and chicken and steak hibachi. My partner ordered the hibachi and was given a small side salad w ginger dressing, a bowl of room temperature miso soup and then two rangoons and a spring roll with it. The sushi was good. My pad Thai was good, a little on the sweet side though, not a bad flavor though, would have loved to have tasted some more spices and flavors in it. Partner said his Hibachi meal could have been bigger. Overall, I’d rate them a 3.5 because while it wasn’t a bad experience, there’s still some room for improvement. The waitress was very sweet, prices were good but I kept having to get up and ask other employees for stuff because for us to be one of two tables in the building, we didn’t really see her much. Also, when I finally got a refill of my sweet tea, I took a huge gulp of loose tea grounds. I brought it up with the grounds I spit in a napkin to let someone know and he just starred at me as if there was nothing else that could be done. I wanted tea but I just asked for a water instead. Not sure how this place got almost a 5 star rating, they must have a very loyal customer base or something. I did, however, enjoy their hot sake. It was only like $8 and I got at least 7 shots out of it before...
Read moreI've been ordering from Mizu for a long time. Mainly doordash/uber eats delivery. Today I placed an order after work with their website online ordering to pickup. The tip system showed a percentage and I decided to set it to zero so I could give them a cash tip which most wait staff prefer. Total was $62.98. I pulled up outside a few minutes early and decide to check my phone as they had emailed me a receipt. My total was $72.98 because a $10 tip had been added. I know I didn't do it and I know it wasn't an accident because the tip options are percentages not an even $10. I went in and asked the person behind the counter who apparently didn't understand when I repeatedly asked her to remove the tip so I could leave cash. I was still willing to let them fix it at this point and let it go as a mistake but that didn't happen. Maybe it wasn't her, but someone there added the $10 to my order. Most likely they thought I wasn't tipping and decided to fraudulently charge my card. I am super upset that this happened and I won't be ordering from here any more. Only reason I haven't given 1 star is because the food is good. Previously service has been excellent but yeah... check...
Read moreThe worst ramen I’ve ever had from a restaurant. Basically instant ramen noodles in a thin flavorless broth with three small and odd tasting slices of dry char siu pork, two wrinkly fish cakes, and a slightly over done low quality soft boiled egg. No nori, no oily broth, cheap and way way too soft noodles, no pickled radish or onion topping; a confusing bowl of ramen that felt like a child’s first try. I wasn’t going to write this because I’m not really the kind of person to throw shade, but like it costs the same as a bowl from Shin-Sen-Gumi which is absurd, and it woke me up with heart burn at 1am (probably not the restaurant’s fault at least).
The sushi I got was fine, fish quality was ok and the roll was made well enough. But also odd was that the wasabi had almost no flavor at all, like I could put big smears of it on each piece of fish and still not taste it.
The service was great, I ordered take out and it was timely and efficient and the person on the phone was really polite. So I feel kind of bad writing this bad review but I’m just so confused about this bowl of ramen. There were just so many things about it which...
