If I could provide a video of our experience it would be more beneficial to my review because words, I believe, won't do it justice. We were there for my daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner, it was not something I believe my daughter chose or any one of us knew about beforehand, her new in-laws made the reservations here because it was close to the facility where she was going to have the wedding. There were at least 25 of us there, and they decided even though it was a very small place, to put us in the very back corner crammed in to a very small table in a very small space with very little elbow room for anyone. But that wasn't the worst part, the worst part was that the server, who was an older woman was the only server that we were given for the whole entire party and she had a very hard time. Many of us were from out of state and out of town, and hadn't seen each other in a while, mostly family some older friends, of the Bride and the groom, so we all wanted to be able to visit and communicate which was definitely impossible because the server kept buddy in at the wrong time asking if we needed things asking if we were happy with our meal, the problem was that when we asked for things or commented on something that we needed we were told that wasn't included we were told that we couldn't get that. I believe this person needed some training in server etiquette, I definitely know that one of my children could have done a better job my younger children. Somewhere after the salad was served the waitress came to refill my tea, and haphazardly grabbed my glass from out of my hand, which I had tried to help by handing it to her rather than having her reach over me in such a tight space, and when she poured my tea into the glass she poured it all over me and soaked my dress and my daughter's jacket who was sitting very close to me. So I had sweet tea, which means I was soaked in sticky sweet tea for the rest of the night. The food was served warm, and barely that for some of us, the salad was served wilted and warm. When I asked if they had any other dressings that we could choose from they stated they did not. There's a lot more that I would like to say but I feel it's best left at the fact that this small place most likely does not host very many large family gatherings, and the fact that they most likely made quite a bit of money from this event, they saw fit not to try to make anything that was wrong right for any of us and most of us went away feeling extremely...
Read moreMe and my granddaughter came in excited to try this place for the 1st time. I was smiling and looking forward to some great Italian food! They said seat yourself, 2 of the three tables we passed were dirty, no dishes or anything, just food particles. The waitress brought the menus and some markers for my little one. Asked her if she'd like to change colors since she brought black and red to color with. My GD said yes, pink please. She never brought the alternate markers. We got our drinks and calamari, which was so salty we couldn't eat it. There was a family that came in about 10 minutes after we did, and she took their order before she took ours. They had drinks and salads before she even asked what we wanted. The people in front of me, she checked on 4x's before she ever took our order. I watched her walk around and avoid my table for over 30 minutes, until the older lady told her to come take our order. She finally took the order. Then I sat and watched the food sit in the window for 10 minutes before she brought it. She just kept passing us by and making sure every table except our table was taken care of. By the time we got our food it had been 50 minutes since we sat down. Of course the people that came 10 minutes after us got their food first. I ended up getting to go boxes as soon as the food came, because I was so upset by the service. I heard the waitress ask the table in front of me if they were military, they said yes and she gladly gave a discount. When I was checking out she asked me the same, I said yes and she asked for military ID, or proof. Didn't ask the other people for proof! My food was greasy and flavorless, and the portions were not worth the money. Especially the kids Alfredo. A small bowl of noodles and sauce with no sides, no meat or anything with it for $7.99? Anyway, never going back. I did not feel welcome at all. Not sure what made the difference between us and the rest of the customers, to small of a group? Stereotyping?...
Read moreAs soon as I walked into Capparellis on 3009, I was greeted with a warm welcome, as if I were a regular customer. It's at this point when I usually get nervous, because I hate for things to go wrong after they've started off so well. Fortunately, my nerves were spared as the pretty cashier was on top of her game. She knew I was there for a pick-up, and also knew to ask if I needed any parmesan, red pepper, and silverware. Once she was confident that everything had been covered, that's when she gave me the total. This is how it's supposed to be, everywhere! This is knowledgeable, considerable, and respectable etiquette by someone who will undoubtedly go far in her young life, and its because of her attitude that she'll get to where she is going. I was out the door within 2 minutes, and everything that I had ordered, and later requested was nicely, and neatly placed inside what seemed to be the perfect sized bag. Once I got home, I noticed that the food wasn't too hot, and it certainly wasn't cold. I believe this location capparellis has the best lasagna in San Antonio, but I have a feeling it's probably just the overall experience that makes the food taste so much better. Whatever it is, they certainly earned these 5 stars, and I hope they give that cashier everything she could ask for because that kind of service is one in a billion these days. With that kind of service, and food that tasty, I care nothing about the expense. Well done! Thank you Capparellis for a memorable dining experience! I will undoubtedly...
