During a family vacation in the upper L.P. we decided to take a day trip to the U.P. and visit the Garlyn Wildlife Zoo. We didn’t eat much of a breakfast and brought snacks with us but we were definitely ready to eat after visiting the zoo. Moofinfries was the closest restaurant to the zoo that had just enough variety for our picky kid (I personally would’ve been satisfied stopping somewhere for a pastie but have zero complaints with or decision to stop here.) That said, this was hands-down the best fish sandwich I’ve ever eaten! Everything here is fresh…fresh caught whitefish, fresh ground beef from cows at a local farm, fresh cut fries, etc. The employees and the owner were very friendly and made sure we were happy with our food and experience. We were going to get ice cream as well but were stuffed after our meals; the portion sizes of the burger and fish sandwiches were quite generous and the large and a small order of fries was more than enough to split between two adults and a 9 year old. It’s a bit on the pricey side and is reminiscent of a Five Guys, but it was delicious and whenever I’m on US-2 in the U.P. and in need of food I’ll be stopping here for as long as...

My son and I were on a motorcycle trip traveling through Michigan when we found this place. It is a little bit out in the middle of nowhere but maybe that's part of its charm. The food was fantastic and good portions! We had a chance to speak with the owner as he came outside to speak with us after our meal while we were sitting at a picnic table. The owner graciously spoke with us for about 10 minutes outside and during that time we had an opportunity to hear about his story and how he came about the business. It is a great story and made our visit even more memorable. Also worth noting the young people that were working for him seem to take a great deal of effort to prepare the food and keep things clean at all times. I'm not a clean freak or anything, but I do appreciate when people make the effort to go the extra mile to be cleanly on my behalf. We really appreciated the hospitality while visiting your restaurant and wish you the very best in your future...

Talk about top notch hospitality. This is an incredible spot to stop for lunch or dinner. On your way into da yoop or on your way out. 💯 recommend!!! The owner has such a humble and genuine servants heart. He looks like a very enjoyable boss as well to his employees. You never hear any arguing or bickering behind the counter. You hear family friendly conversations and good laughter. They high five each other and work very hard. There's so much passion thay goes into this restaurant and you really see thay passion shine through in their team effort and how they treat/speak to customers. The owner personally walks around to check on each customer and somehow even remembers everything rhey ordered and makes sure it's to everyone's individual preferences. He's sincerely the sweetest man. 💗 The cleanliness, friendliness, hesrt for hospitality and amazing fresh made to order food is a rare thing to find. This place is truly a...

Looking for a place to eat along US2? We highly recommend MooFinFries! Every order is made fresh and to your liking. Both the beef and fish are sourced locally and everything is cooked with that Yooper care! #upperpeninsulamichigan #michigan #michiganrestaurants #thetravelingtextbook

Love this place! For anyone from the Lower Peninsula, think of Moofinfries as a northern Michigan version of Five Guys—only better. From what I remember, it’s all locally sourced, kind of a farm-to-table setup, and you can definitely taste the difference. We try to stop here pretty much every time we’re in the U.P., if it works out. And honestly, the food is great—but the customer service is even better. Every time we’ve been in, the owner has been there, checking in with people (including us) to see how their food is. If it’s your first time, he’ll even take the time to explain how everything works. Super friendly and welcoming, and just a really well-run place. They always had cool merch, and they’ve recently added some great stickers if you’re into that kind of thing. If you’re heading north, skip the fast food near the bridge and hold out about 45 more minutes to get here. Totally worth it.

More like a 3.5 star experience. First of all, the service is really great and two managers stopped by to check on me several times and find out if things were okay, which really means a lot about how they care about the business. The burger was good, I wish they'd had a cheddar (real) cheese option so I settled for the Swiss, but honestly the upcharge/prices were a bit steep, a grilled onions upcharge was almost as much as bacon for example, (when they really shouldn't even be upcharged to begin with). My tab was just over $21 for a double burger and poutine with water. Anyway, I should have stuck with just the plain hand cut french fries, the Poutine didn't have curds, and the beef gravy was a bit dark tasting which ruined the dish. To the managers credit he sincerely asked if I wanted something else but I declined and didnt. Overall, it's decent roadside option if you're in the area.
