As passionate foodies who’ve traveled to Italy, New York, and all over DFW in search of the best Italian cuisine, my husband and I hold high standards for Italian restaurants. We always look for three key things: exceptional customer service, outstanding taste, and reasonable pricing. It’s rare to find a place that excels in all three, but Bessa absolutely does.
From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming staff made us feel right at home. Their attentiveness and genuine passion for their food added to the overall experience.
Now, let’s talk about the food – it was phenomenal. The chicken artichoke pasta and shrimp pomodoro pasta were like heaven on a plate. The chicken artichoke dish featured tender, sautéed chicken breast paired with artichokes in the most incredible white wine lemon sauce. It was velvety, tangy, and perfectly balanced—the best lemon sauce I’ve ever had. It coated the spaghettini beautifully, making every bite bright and satisfying.
The shrimp pomodoro was equally outstanding. Grilled shrimp, crispy on the outside and juicy inside, were combined with fresh garlic, ripe tomatoes, and fragrant basil, all tossed in olive oil over linguine. The flavors were light, vibrant, and impossibly fresh—simple ingredients elevated to perfection.
And we can’t forget the pizza sauce! It was so rich, fresh, and flavorful that we ended up ordering extra just to dip our bread – it’s honestly the best pizza sauce we’ve ever had.
Of course, we couldn’t leave without dessert, and we’re so glad we didn’t. We ordered the tiramisu and the cannolis, and they were both unforgettable. The cannolis had the creamiest, most decadent filling we’ve ever tasted, with just the right amount of sweetness. The tiramisu was equally divine – perfectly layered with fluffy mascarpone, delicate espresso-soaked ladyfingers, and a dusting of cocoa that tied everything together. It was the perfect ending to an already incredible meal.
To top it all off, the pricing is refreshingly reasonable for the exceptional quality and experience. Bessa is truly a rare gem, and we’ll be coming back again and again. If you’re looking for authentic Italian cuisine with incredible flavors and hospitality, this...
Read moreI don't know if the guy who waited on me even had a clue of what good hospitality looks like because he didn't show it except thank me as I left the place. This guy frowned so hard when I entered the restaurant I almost left immediately, when he asked what I was there for (it's restaurant that sells food). I was insulted at this point. I was then asked if I wanted it to go or dine-in, and regrettably I said dine-in. I selected a seat near the front to clearly be seen and there was only one other couple in the place. He asked for my type of drink I wanted, then went & got it and also brought some dinner rolls that were so stale I could hard bite it. I asked if the Spaghetti was made with Italian sausage, he said no! Guys this is supposed to be an Italian Restaurant. I should've taken this second mishap as another opportunity to leave. But I didn't I ordered anyway giving this place yet another chance. My order came and the food was hot and horrible. I ordered spaghetti with meatballs and meat sauce. It was made with angel hair pasta - not spaghetti noodles and whatever was in the meatballs was definitely not real ground beef or Italian sausage. The sauce was completely bland and void of any Italian spices. What you see in the photos was what I put on it in order to not waste it altogether. Then I choked some of it down & hoped I wouldn't vomit it back before leaving the place. I only asked for a to-go carton to take this mess with me in case I had to go to the hospital afterwards. Obviously I will never eat here again, you do not get to treat me with disdain & serve bad food. This place should know they are an insult to all Italian Restaurants. Generally Italian's are kind & the best at hospitality & great...

They seemed more upset with ME and became mad about their error! But, OK, these things happen, sometimes we really never know where the miscommunication broke down. So, I gave them a second chance and ordered their calzone and added black olives. IT WAS DELICIOUS, so much I called to compliment them... but before I could even get a word out, the owner/man was being short with me like he was expecting a complaint. I now realize they must receive complaints often... but I went on to tell him how much I liked the dish and said I would definitely return. A few weeks later, I ordered the VERY SAME calzone and this time, the price increased by 70 cents.... I was curious about the price hike, but just paid and went on my way without questioning it..... TWO WEEKS LATER I ORDERED THE VERY SAME CALZONE and and NOW the price is another dollar higher!!! Within ONE MONTH, the price went up $1.70 higher than my original order. This time I did question it, and again the owner/man became irritated and agitated because I asked. He proceeded to YELL at ME, "ASK FOR THE PRICE BEFORE YOU ORDER". I informed him this was my 3rd exact order in 4 weeks, so didn't feel the need to ask for a price. After that, I said "Just give me my money back. This is ridiculous." He returned my money, and as I was leaving without my food, he YELLED AGAIN...."It's extra for the olives!". So I yelled, "YES I KNOW, but DO OLIVES GET MORE EXPENSIVE EVERY WEEK???" Ultimately, a $7.99 Calzone with one extra ingredient quickly became a $12.00...
