UPDATE: Susie, the owner at Aversboro, reached out IMMEDIATELY after my review was posted (even though it was late at night), to apologize for what'd happened and make good on it. Rare for people to take responsibility these days, instead pitting us against each other (just look at our gov'mint), so that is very much appreciated. I have revised each of my rating upwards. Like I had to admit in my post, their fried chicken sandwich is darn tasty! (Thanks, Susie. Best!)
This place used to be great.
Had to work late, hard to find time for takeout, but thought I'd treat myself, really had a hankering for their fried chicken sandwich and fries (plus slaw). Ordered online, and Dallas (if I remember correctly - he's new) was super friendly and helpful. But got home and it was just sandwich, no fries (or slaw). Too late to go back out so called after eating half (it's big!), but no answer.
A friend said I should demand a whole new meal, but I said nah, I still have half left, so looked forward all day to getting the fries (and slaw) to add to it for dinner. Worked late again, but made time to run up there. Told a staff member what'd happened, had to wait by loud trivia. Turned out I still had my receipt (for once!), but had to wait again. She finally came back with a big plate of fries and wings, but they weren't for me. She showed me on the receipt there were no fries, which was confusing since not only were they supposed to be included, they were a whole half of my hankering! She said they could put in an order for $5.99 plus tax. I declined, and she gave me a tiny plastic to-go cup - it was the slaw, which sadly turned out to be tasteless.
Still had my half-sandwich at home, though, so ran up to Big Ed's diner for fries, but they'd just closed at 8. So ran around the corner to the (excellent!) Greek On Wheels for their special Loaded Fries with beef and lamb, but depressingly they'd just closed, too. So went in to Carolina Fish Fry and got fries for just 2 buck fifty... and, coupled with my still tasty half sandwich, they were (maybe 'cause I was by then feeling both down and starving) phenomenal!
Next day I looked again online and... confirmed "Chicken Sandwich - A grilled or fried chicken breast served on a toasted roll with bacon, Swiss or American cheese, lettuce and tomato. Served with fries, chips or tots." Below, I had picked Swiss and, of course, fries. But then, scrolling further, I saw "Slaw $1.20" and said "that's cheap, why not, been a hard day" and clicked to add that, too. Now I see that that bland little slaw had cancelled out my coveted fries! But that's not when I felt dumb. I'd made time to drive back up there, I'd waited awkwardly with the trivia players wondering who's that nut just sitting there... only for the staff to tell me they wouldn't buck for just a few fries. That's when I felt dumb, and feeling dumb is...
Read moreI come here often. The food is ALWAYS delicious 😋. I wanted to review my server today. I'm not sure of her name. She was scheduled the AM shift Thursday Sept. 5th. First, she is very personable! Smiles a lot! However, she discussed some home issues that were preventing her from being more attentive. Her phone went off loudly and she kept checking it in the dining room. She needs to work on time management. 1) no phone (no time for that.) 2) Figure out what all your tables need. Grab everything at once and deliver. 3) Do all the small things first and move onto the bigger items. 4) Greet a party but if you have 3 other tables waiting let the party know you'll be back in just a minute to collect drink orders. 5) daily tasks should only be taken care of if your tables have what they need at the time. 6) keep an eye on your guests. If you see them looking around it means they need something and are most likely growing impatient. She had a great attitude. Positive vibes, outside of home complaints. These items are meant to constructively criticize not hurt her feelings. She has great potential.

Read moreThis place always looks packed & busy from driving by; the outside seating (in good weather) seems to be busy w patrons eating, socializing & playing games so we gave it a go.
The food here is great - stop in for a quick bite!
We ordered the sampler apps: mushrooms, jalapeno poppers & loaded skins. All 3 were well-made, served hot. The mushrooms are not heavily breaded (*not the biggest mushroom fan - these are excellent).
We ordered the Dry Rub 20 piece Chicken Wings. They gave us way more than 20! I'm not sure if they made a mistake or if they just "eyeball" it... but we took 13 home after eating our fill... These wings are great! Served piping hot & juicy! These are BIG wings, not the little, bitty wings some places put out.
4 stars based on today. I'm going to stop a few more times & update as the experience is a...
