Folks, I’m giving Adita’s restaurant in Gassville a huge shout out this morning!
I had not eaten there since it was the Brass Door! This past weekend I went and just shared a nacho platter and a tostada! It was very good! Beth had the chicken quesadilla’s which she couldn’t eat all that was in her order so we took the rest home to Randall. He has raved about those quesadillas so I talked him into going out for lunch yesterday, he’s such a homebody these days, but I know his back hurts him terribly so I don’t mind going alone or with Beth. Anyway, yesterday I had the enchiladas with sour cream sauce, refried beans and rice! Pic attached: my first bite I knew it was something special! I’m thinking ‘THIS IS HOMEMADE FROM SCRATCH’! I couldn’t contain my curiosity and I spoke a bit loudly to the gal that was a few tables from us, looking as if she was planning menus or work related on her PC anyway, so she could hear me plainly… “do you all make your food from scratch”? Yes ma’am was her reply! Every single bite I took was even better that the last! The refried beans were REAL home cooked beans mashed into a delicious goodness! The rice was oh so tasty and moist! Needless to say I over ate and still took plenty of leftovers home for Beth to have dinner (she loves Mexican food)! Randall had the chicken quesadillas and raved about them with every bite! Now, we have had LOTS of Mexican, TexMex authentic Mexican food all over this country some very fancy restaurants and some hole in the wall and in Mexico plus living in Dallas TX, a food and restaurant mecca, for 15 years I would say we’ve had it all pretty much and some as good as Adita’s, but not many! THEN on our way out they had just brought a tray of individual Apple Crisp servings… OMG were these the BEST! I asked Randall to get two one for him and one for Beth, thinking I really didn’t want the sweetness! Later when I was home I decided to taste it and was just blown away with the flavor! It was perfectly homemade! This will be my go to restaurant for Mexican food from now on. The staff is very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable! So, please visit them, help keep them in business as I know many restaurants are still struggling. I try and go out to eat when there is not a crowd, usually after or sometimes before the lunch crowd! Try them, I was DEFINATELY impressed with my meal yesterday! Three chicken enchiladas, refried beans and rice for 7.95. Free chips and salsa! It was all delicious and homemade with so...
Read moreWhen we entered the establishment there were NO lights on and I want to say it was around 4:30 pm, and the lights never did come on the entire time we dined there. There was one other couple dining there when we first got there and that nearly detoured us completely from coming in. The restaurant is somewhat run down and could use a face lift and a definite good cleaning. The two young ladies working the facility during the hours we ate were quite lovely and polite. However, I might suggest that music being played that is sang in English so that the customers can understand the words to the music. In addition to that the crew should adhere to the regulations of the state and protect themselves and their customers by wearing a mask. This Pandemic is serious and should be taken seriously, I cannot cover my mouth while eating but it would be greatly appreciated if the staff serving would take every precaution to avoid passing and getting it themselves. Not a horrible experience by any means, just needs some precautionary means taken to be a definite more satisfactory...
Read moreGood food, so-so service and less-than-welcoming environment. The food was good, but our waitress couldn't even keep our glasses filled even though we could see the drink stand twenty feet away. We asked for salsa refills and she, after a long delay, brought my fellow diner's refill, but not mine. The hallway lights to the restrooms were not on, so the hallway was dark. The men's room sign was missing and an open electrical box greeted me, as did a large container of cleaning fluid on the floor; furthermore, the door could not be closed, nor locked. Oh yes, the dining area was hot and humid with no air circulation. Lights were out and wall hangings were, evidently, installed by someone without any clue as to how to do it. So, in summation, come for the food, but don't expect any other pleasantries. It would take very little to make a big, positive difference in...
