If you want about a billion fat calories from the pound of cheese they use to cover the disgusting food, go to Letty's. The chips are greasy and they don't taste good, The salsa is canned tomato sauce with giant onion hunks. They prep only cheese enchiladas so if you order beef they just through some beef on top.
The chili relleno peppers are fried in a whole egg. No batter, just fried egg, a relleno pepper, and a butt load of cheese over the top. I can't say enough of how sickening everything is. I really would like to tell you one menu item that would be okay but I truly can not. Letty must order cheese by the ton because ALL the plates are slathered in thick, greasy cheese and it's not quality cheese either just fatty cheese, ordered cheap.
Even the very basic tacos are tasteless. The Mexican fried rice tastes like pure garlic. It's garlic rice. The beans are runny and void of all taste save for the cheese they put on top.
On a good note, the place is clean and the wait staff works hard. Too bad the food is so bad. I'm always amazed when I drive by and see cars there. El Chico in Mountain Home is absolutely sickening too but better by FAR than Letty's. To be honest, if you want better Mexican food than letty's that you can really eat instead of pushing it around your plate to escape of the the gobs of grease from the cheap cheese then go...
Read moreI really like this restaurant. Good food. I've eaten there at least 10 times. My only real dislike is the lack of service. I've needed sauce for my whole meal and no one ever came near the table after serving my food so I could ask for more. I've had to ration my drink, because when I sit it on the edge of the table, which is how a customer says to a waitress that I need a refill. Yet through my whole meal it never gets refilled or even an inquiry as to if I need more. I recommend preplanning if you eat here, cause the food is good. Just ask the waiter for all you need when they first take your order. Like me, I now ask for extra salsa and 3 glasses of water, because I need it for my meal and absolutely hate having to eat delicious spicy food without something to drink. In the 1980's my Spanish class in high school took a trip to little rock for some culture immersion. We ate at a Mexican restaurant on the way. They had little flags that you raise at each table, if you needed service, you simply raised the flag. A waitress would see this and ask what you needed in a very timely fashion. As in within a few minutes at the most. Perhaps this restaurant could do that to improve their service. If their service improved, they'd be 5...
Read moreI travel for work, and have been here before 2 years ago, and this was our fave Mexican place in town. So head in for lunch today, and what a complete difference. Not sure if it has changed hands, but it was horrible. We had a pre-teen wait on us, which owner’s child or not, should be trained better if they expect her to work there. We both ordered unsweetened tea, she brought one. Never even stayed at the table long enough so we could correct the problem. My husband ordered a grilled chicken salad with no tomatoes (food allergy) and double chicken (he bodybuilds and wants the extra protein), I ordered 2 tacos with ground beef one soft and one crunchy, no tomatoes. He got a bowl with wilted shredded lettuce , a sprinkle of shredded cheese and a SINGLE amount of chicken. Sorriest looking “salad” I’ve ever seen. Neither of my tacos were crunchy because it was fried so it was soggy and dripping grease. The meat had zero seasoning or flavor and the tacos had the same sorry lettuce and cheese on top. I didn’t eat the “soft one” I gave it to hubby who was still hungry. He took one bite and said “that is disgusting”, so we got up, paid, and left. Came home so he could make himself another lunch. Will NOT be...
