Heading from Spokane (where my boyfriend was born and reared) to Olympia (where we, currently, live) my boyfriend decided to stop in to the tiny little town of George, where we found this spot
As soon as I walked in, the smells, the music playing and the look of the place put a huge grin on my face. It reminded me sooooo much of the Mexican spots I would frequent and love in Southern California where I was born & grew up, as well as the taco stands and restaurants in Mexico, that my friends and I would drive down to just to eat!
From the aguas frescas, to the homemade flour tortillas the simplicity & familiarity were delicious, welcoming, and is, definitely, a spot we return to when we visit Eastern Washington.
The owner/chef and his family/staff were so gracious, so kind and it made me feel like I was back home in SoCal from the moment I walked in. Hands down best Mexican food I have had since I moved to this state 7 years ago.
If you happen to be anywhere near George, Washington and you enjoy authentic Mexican food that is not whitewashed & Americanised, this is 100% where you need to go... You will not be...
Read moreHello, my fellow foodies. I'm here in Washington St. at an authentic Mexican restaurant. I just happened to drive past it, so though to give it a try, I'm glad I did. The first thing I noticed was the aroma. Man, did it remind me of Mexico itself. Second was the greeting from the people. It was pleasant and warmly, and I felt very welcomed. Third was the food. I ordered a carnitas burritos, but unfortunately, they just ran out :( so the man suggested chicharrones burrito instead. Never had one before, so I thought to give it a shot. Glad I did. If you love chicharrones, this it. Delicious and great amount of chicharrones. The man gave me a salsa to go with it. That was delicious, too. The chips are light and crisp and the salsa for the chips is delicious too. No complaints here 5☆. Oh, I almost forgot the hochata is killer delicious. Thanks to Ramon for the...

As another reviewer noted, it is decorated in Mexican & Central American decor. Staff can speak English & Spanish. Waitresses are friendly & had nice smiles.
If you’re coming to a festival or driving through, well worth it to eat something here. They also have horchata, Jimica, fresa juice & cocktails/alcohol. Menu is straightforward & I love that they had pictures.
This restaurant has a lot of space & I imagine locals frequently visit. It was Saturday when I made this review, a family celebrated a 5 year old girl’s birthday. Full bar, pool, patio, & bar stools are available.
Overall food & service was great! I think the restaurant could make some cosmetic changes so customers can feel more comfortable (decor, ventilation, etc) if they...
