Big Oak BBQ — Restaurant in Georgia

Have been going to Big Oak for years! Went last night will probably be a long time before we go back!! The service was the worst I have ever ever experienced!! After waiting 10 minutes I had to get up and go up to the waitress and asked that she come take our drink order and order our food. My husband and I ordered bbq plate with stew. Which you would think would be fairly quick.....after wait 30 more minutes I noticed that a couple that came in way after us got their food the same as what we had ordered just bbq and stew. I asked how they got their food and we had not gotten ours? Well I guess the waitress didn’t place our order cause she came to our table and said that she was sorry, but they were really busy and we should have our food shortly. Needless to say we got up and left. You can have the best food around, but if you don’t have to service to go with it you might as well not have the food. Being a former restaurant owner I would suggest having someone solely running the cash register, taking walk-in orders and assisting with orders. With no bigger than the inside is two good waitresses should be able to handle it. Have one kitchen person along with one person working the drive thru. I’m not sure what has happened, but it was very disorganized and like I said I’m not sure we will go back if we do it want be any...

I’ve eaten here 3 times now. First time was when they were on 98. Wasn’t impressed. Gave them another chance when they reopened in Ila. Absolute worst brisket I’ve ever had in my life. The ribs were okay But nothing to brag about. I do like the barbecue sauce. The Brunswick stew had no flavor and just tasted like pork. The portions are very small. They literally gave me Six fries with combo. The third chance I gave them was on their wings. Wings are pretty hard to mess up. First, They were not deep fried like I expected. I got the garlic Parm and they only tasted like smoky chicken. No garlic Parm flavor. They shorted me two wings and Offered me a dessert. I chose the banana pudding worse banana pudding I’ve ever had . just tasted like mushy bananas. I’m not one to complain or leave bad reviews, but this is literally the worst barbecue joint I’ve ever ate at and will not eat there again. Three strikes you’re out. I don’t know how they have such good...

I really wanted this place to be good, but it wasn't. I have not eaten here in about 10 years. Ordered a BBQ Pork plate. Slaw was good, Stew was ok, but used to be great. The chopped Pork. The Chopped Pork, was barley chopped and tastes like Dried Chicken. Did not have a Pork taste and seemed to have no seasoning. Pork was not good at all. I had over heard the waitress tell the people at the table next to us that the Banana Pudding was not good. I should have listened but my wife wanted it and it was not eatable. Person with me asked if the same owner was still here because it had changed so much.( Yep same owner). Waitress said that he might stop in around Lunch or Dinner. Seems owner is not hands on ( or that is at least what the staff conveyed) and it shows....
