Stopped into this little spot hoping to get a hearty Southern meal like my Granny used to make—something that sticks to your ribs and warms the soul. The atmosphere is exactly what you’d expect from a small-town country store and eatery: cozy, familiar, and full of friendly folks ready to chat.

I ordered the Hamburger Steak Platter with fried okra, a side salad, and fried pickles. And while my Granny did cross my mind when the food arrived, it was more in the sense of wondering if this is what she’d have been forced to eat had she ever ended up in a nursing home. I opted out of grilled onions on my hamburger steak, but I didn’t realize that meant I’d be served a plain, dry burger patty with nothing to dress it up. When I asked about gravy, I was told the only options were A1 or Heinz 57—bless it.

The fried okra was the usual pre-frozen variety, hard to mess up but nothing special. Same goes for the fried pickles—except I only got four small wedges, and the batter slid right off with the first bite, leaving me with a sad little mushy pickle.

Now, don’t get me wrong—the food wasn’t terrible. If you’re watching your salt intake, keeping an eye on your cholesterol, or just looking for a place to sit and chat about “this generation” over a plate of something bland, this might be just the spot for you. But if you’d rather save yourself $20, just hit the drive-thru and ask for a plain burger patty. You’ll get the same experience for less than...

I would give two and a half Stars if that were an option. I mean I hate to diss local businesses and there aren't many places to eat in the area from the end that we were staying but this place was just not great. it literally took 30 minutes to get a grilled cheese fries burger and tater tots. I know all restaurants are hurting for staff. however it didn't seem like they were tremendously short-handed. I don't know if they just had a super small kitchen and they were pretty busy but very very slow. and it's kind of interesting it's this little Grill inside a country store. I have to say I did absolutely love the tater tots they were cooked perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside but my burger wasn't great and my husband's grilled cheese wasn't even melted but it took so long for us to get it that we didn't send it back but that was basically a waste of money and it made us wonder what kind of cheese they used because the bread was toasted on the outside I don't know just wasn't great overall but again you kind of have a...

I was very excited to try this restaurant after hiking in the area. We ordered at the counter, got our drinks, and sat down to wait. The young girl working at the register never said anyone would bring our food to us, but after seeing her bring food to other tables, we assumed that's how it worked there. After 35 minutes of waiting and seeing every single table around us get their food, eat and leave, I asked the girl where our food was. She asked the name on my order and then asked the kitchen. Someone yelled back that it was almost ready. We got our food 5 minutes later (a full 40 minutes after ordering it). Our pork was barely warm. Clearly our order was lost or forgotten because other people around us got pork plates too and they were served well before us. I thought it was rude and we won't be returning. There's much better BBQ up the road in...

My first impression when I opened the door was " this place is well-organized". As I glanced at the floor I realized this restaurant is very clean and then, as I looked around the well-lit room, I was pleased with the decorations and the overall appearance of the restaurant. It's not a new building but it's well-maintained. The attendant who took our order was fun to talk to and cheerful. I was confident the meal would be good when I realized most of the other customers were not tourists, like me. You have to put question marks on restaurants that can't sustain themselves outside of the tourist season. This is not a fast food restaurant so the food was fresh, and consequently, delivered in the normal time it would take to prepare it. I will definetly be stopping there the next time I'm traveling in the area at meal time.

We have seen the sign for this place for a while now and finally had min to try it out, OMG this was so amazing, the pulled pork was top 5 best I've ever had paired with their vinegar sauce (better than mustard) and perfectly cook onion rings, the stew was about par still good but I've had better, the burgers are amazing and look handmade, tots were golden brown and the best from any stop in place. There are so many options on the huge menu we are coming back to try everything. 10/10 everyone needs to stop in this place! Staff was very nice and made you feel like you coming home for Sunday lunch.
