I haven't eaten here personally, but as soon as I can make it to Jackson, I will, regardless of what any other reviewer says based on this experience that my trusted friend told me (the following is from her point of view):
I and my adult, autistic son have a set routine of visiting Chick-N-Run every Thursday after attending bible study and the post office. My son gets chicken strips, fries and a Coke, but this past Thursday Chick-N-Run had a problem with their water line and couldn't serve Coke. When I called in advance to place the order, they asked if sweet tea would suffice. Knowing my son, I knew it wouldn't but I told them I would try to think of something. Understand that routines are huge for my son. If events happen the way he expects, life is much easier. Changing from Coke to sweet tea will likely rock my son's world and will throw off the entire day AND night. This is hard for some people to understand, but it's just the way it is. When I started to prepare my son for having sweet tea with lunch instead of Coke, his response was a grumbling sound.
When we pulled up to the pick-up window, his food was handed out and the employee said, "My mom (who also works at Chick-N-Run) went to get him a Coke--there she is now." I saw a truck pulling in and the dear lady ran and handed my son his Coke, in a cup with the cover, ice and a straw--perfect! I offered to pay extra---no, it was covered. Then in the few words exchanged (my son was chomping at the bit to be on his way with his routine), I learned that because of the water issue they couldn't serve the public, BUT the employee told me that they'd already decided they would serve my son when I called. These people don't know us except for our last name which I leave with the call-in order. I don't know theirs and because we had to leave (my son's schedule again) I didn't get to ask...not to mention the fact that I was so touched that I could barely speak! When we drove off, I told my son, "God showed you His grace today." I think he agreed...some sound was made...as he munched on his chicken and drank his Coke! Friends, if you're at Chick n Run, would you make a point to express to these folks what a beautiful gesture of service was given? And especially, how GOD used them to minister to the "least of these?" That would be my son -- and his...
Read more1 star is still too much credit for this location. It’s almost like fighting tooth and nail with all of the employees at this location. They like to buck at customers whenever the customer wants something done a little differently. They will sit there at the counter arguing with customers in front of other customers. They are loud and obnoxious with their yelling and smelling like an ash trays while they take your order. I’ve never been to an establishment that treats customers so poorly. I wouldn’t recommend this place to even feed my dog. The turn over rating with their employees is unbelievable. It’s almost like there are never the same people there more than a few weeks at a time. The “management” is just as bad as the newly hired high school employees that are very disrespectful. They raised their prices and lowered their standards and quality of food. It’s worth making the drive to the locust grove location before coming...
Read moreHow are you gonna charge $25 for 2 meals that look like this?!? These are supposed to be tenders, not nuggets… so ridiculous!! Places should make sure that they are providing quality service and food for the CRAZY prices that they want to charge for these meals.. And then the young lady asked us to pull back around the building to wait in line again and we sat at the window for 10 minutes while my husband and I watched them just walking around in the store. Then we pull over to check the food and it’s not even really hot.. Why are you having paying customers waiting if you are going to serve them lukewarm food?!? Definitely a last resort for me when it comes to food in Jackson. Food isn’t worth the price, the YOUNG people that work there don’t know how to be professional. Really expected more from this restaurant considering all the buzz I hear about this place. It DEFINITELY doesn’t live up...
