Update: They’re backkkk. They were, painfully lol, closed for a move and during those weeks I was honestly sweating as I was not willing to start another journey on finding a good Jamaican spot. Thankfully, they opened back up literally right behind the location they previously were, so not a drastic location move. The space is definitely bigger, atmosphere is certainly inviting, and even since my first visit years ago they are STILL clean🙏🏾. Customer service is always on point, which is a must for me personally. Contrary to popular belief, loll, the customer service does NOT have to be bad in order for the food to hit. They simply don’t miss. Consistency. Appreciate your business and look forward to my continued support!
Meals I’ve had: jerk wings, curry chicken, curry goat, ackee and codfish (with provisions), jerk chicken, spinach patties (my fav) ...snacks (tamarind balls, plantain chips, coconut drop) and of course their drinks ..probably some other that I’ve forgotten. Never disappointed.
So, FINALLY I’ve found a JA spot that’ll be my go to. First things first, I’ve gone to multiple spots since being here in GA in several parts: Atlanta and outskirts of Atlanta included. My other favorite one is just too far when I want a meal on the fly having to go through traffic etc etc.
First things first, clean. That’s the first thing I look for when visiting these restaurants as some establishments let themselves go in that department due to the pandemic. That’s no excuse, it still needs to be clean, so A+ on that. Second, I have original Jamaican roots, so I look for certain things in my food. I bought the ackee and codfish dish and mannnn. Loll hit the spot! I’m going back today for my spinach and chicken patty. Also, they happened to be selling ginger shots mixed with other fluids for $2.00, and let’s say it came in really handy. Tasted like the ginger tea my grandma used to make for me as a child. This is now my go to spot. Look...
Read moreI have tried this place twice. The first time I was in line when a guy in front of me ordered way more than he could afford. So instead of having to wait I told him I would buy whatever he didn't want, since I didn't know what I wanted anyway. Plus the lady was kind of giving him an attitude like 'you didn't know you didn't have money before ordering?' So I got the jerk chicken with white rice and cabbage. I was excited to try it since I haven't had jerk chicken in years. It was gross and cold, the rice was overcooked and the cabbage taste like it was sitting out all night.. Fast forward maybe 7 months later, I was really craving Jamaican food and decided to try this place again, since it's less than 10 minutes from my job. I got a veggie plate (rice and beans w/oxtail gravy, cabbage, and plantains). The rice and beans with gravy was good. But, the cabbage taste like it's still sitting out all night and had a horrible after taste to it as well. Even the patties are horrible! Just save your money!!! I will just have to keep making that drive to Natty's or Marietta Jerk as they have not let...
Read moreafter working in customer service for 8 years; within 3 of those year’s i was able to achieve managerial status. with that being said, i was extremely impressed with the hospitality, quality of food, environment, and cleanliness of this establishment!! not to mention this is my first time visiting. coming from fayetteville, I will be returning often.
for dinner, i enjoyed a nice portion of rice and peas with cabbage along with plantains. in addition, i added a pineapple + guava drink, coco bread, and dumplings (for a nice treat to myself). the owner kindly suggested that i get a soy alternative since i am “vegan”. however, he didn’t pressure me into the “upsale”, it was genuine. ON TOP OF IT ALL, it’s a melanin family owned business. you can taste the love + laughter in the food.
needless to say, i couldn’t wait to finish my responsibilities, therefore, i can enjoy the remaining of my leftovers, in which i did :)
pray that this...
