Twenty years ago I ate here for breakfast and I was sorely disappointed. the portions were small and the food was mediocre. This image stayed with me ever since then until I wanted a change from my usual breakfast routine. I chose the platter with scrambled eggs, potatoes, peppers and onions. it was all freshly cooked and served to me hot with a large biscuit, a big change from some other places! The serving was so big I only ate half of it and ate the rest a few days later. Since then I have gone there for breakfast and dinner. The portions are large, dinner one day, lunch the next day and at prices far below what it would cost elsewhere. Regretfully the free drink with a meal is going away due to rising prices. Still I will continue to go. This place has good, simple filling food at a reasonable price.

I must amend my review. i went there to get some wings on a Saturday and I was told they no longer have grill items on Saturday. This means no more breakfast too. The only food available comes from the cafeteria line. The person who used to cook on Saturdays no longer comes. I assume all the food is cooked on Friday and when they run out on a Saturday that is it.

Since i can only come on a Saturday this severely limits what I can get.

I just found out that they close the grill at 4 PM. The only food available is food from the hot line or fried chicken tenders or hot wings. No hamburgers or philly cheese steaks.

I believe this place changed owners a month ago. The new owners have fixed up the interior and it looks real nice. The menus and prices are the same. I think the grill is back...

Wow. Just wow with how bad this place is for breakfast. I'm actually upset that someone referred me here while I sit with a stomachache in my car immediately after eating this nonsense.

Firstly, this place is Asian-owned. Why is that important? Because it's very hard for them to get country cooking down if they can barely speak English. The accents are so thick they literally are probably first generation immigrants at best. They don't know country cooking like someone who is raised here in the South would!

Everything tastes bland. There's no seasoning whatsoever, and it's obvious this is canned biscuit and box grits territory. The best part of my western omelet was the hot chocolate - also from a box!

Then, there's the restaurant itself. The dead parking lot should have been a dead giveaway that this is not a place to dine in. It was 26 degrees this morning in ga - it was cold! Was there heat on in the restaurant or cushions on the seats? Of course not, that's be too unlike cheap for the owners. And the place is FILTHY. The fronts of the metal bar are greasy, the floor had food stuffs and white powder on it - cleaning only the TOP of the table is not adequate! I should have checked for the health rating!

I wasn't expecting customer service. No one spoke to me once I received my food or as I got up to leave. I, for one, will not be back to even attempt lunch as sickly as...

Food was decent. Main problem about this place was the customer service. My mother and I came to try this place for months since we pass by this place often. Sadly enough, our first experience is going to be our last. When we arrived, the lady greeted us as normal staff should. As we were ordering, she gave us a nasty attitude that left a bad taste in our mouths. It was to the point where we couldn’t even enjoy the food. One example of her attitude is when my mother asked for rice after changing her mind. Remember this point, SHE DID not give attitude towards the staff and yet the lady went on raising her voice talking about ā€œ I already told youā€ and as she was getting the rice she slammed the cooker to the wall. Are you serious? You’re at a grown age where you should be able to handle your own anger if she was angry. Last but not least, she did not even offer drinks. We didn’t even know the drinks did not come with it, yet she asked other customers if they wanted a drink. Awful service. Nasty lady. God bless her soul because with the way she treated us, I know she is miserable in the head. Anyways, 2/10 never...

We had never heard of Donnie’s County Cooking before today. Saw it while poking through Grubhub looking for something interesting...and decided to give it a try. The order arrived quickly (before the ETA), complete, packaged well for delivery and still warm. A minute in the microwave made up for any heat loss during delivery. We ordered the country fried steak (comes with white rice underneath) with sides of mashed potatoes, fried zucchini, fried okra, root beer, and peach cobbler for dessert. The country fried steak was tender and less ā€œstringyā€ than some other places but overall with the white gravy, was tasty, albeit average. The rice was cooked well and tasty. Loved the mashed potatoes, as they were smooth and creamy like the ones I grew up eating. The fried zucchini (which included carrot slices and onion) were cooked like I like them (still crispy) and most pleasantly seasoned. Delicious fried okra, cornbread muffin and Mug Root Beer rounded out an excellent lunch. Really good peach cobbler too. Nice generous portions made the experience even more worthwhile. Will certainly will be ordering from here again.

Stop by today after my doctors appointment I was extremely hungry. Walked in and was greeted very nicely. It was my first time so I decided to ask for a sample of the beef tips. Without hesitation, she grabbed a spoon and let me sample it I was shocked at how good it taste packed with flavor. She was very nice. The food was great. The place was nice and clean. I’m surprised that this place isn’t packed during lunchtime because it is definitely worth it. The portion was plenty full and the price was cheap $12.86 for a full plate of food that actually tastes good Thank you Donnieā€˜s country kitchen.! My family and I will be there soon

I love to eat at Donnie's. The prices are very cheap and the food is great. Just a basic, wholesome, homestyle meal. I always get the fish, collard greens, cornbread, and peach cobbler. That will cost you about $8.00. Drink included. Donnie's is a local well kept secret. Next time you are in the area looking for a place to buy lunch, this is the spot. Your belly and your wallet will thank you.
