Fish Tales Pub and Grill — Restaurant in Georgia

I was thrilled to win a gift certificate to this place from 104.1 because I’ve always heard about this place and I’ve always wanted to try it out…… and I’ve never been more disappointed… I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich to go, because I’m always busy…. My friend got the cheesesteak egg rolls and we headed out back home to eat what we thought was going to be decent food…. Boy were we wrong. My chicken sandwich bounced back when I bit into it…two tiny rubbery pieces (unseasoned) sitting on a nice piece of lettuce with some onions…the bun was good I’ll give them that.. but that was it… the egg rolls were AWFUL… pink inside even…cheesesteak isn’t pink last I checked…before we left, when I payed with my certificate, I was told the waitress would need to get the manager to put it into the computer, no problem I get it I work In The food industry also…. So when I got back home was when I bit into it and was sincerely disappointed… mistakes happen, so I called to tell them my food was not edible, And can I just replace the sandwich….. the woman on the phone tells me (this is literally 30-45 mins after we left) that her manager isn’t there and has been out for a few days. But will be back Thursday….🤨 I’m confused? I thought the manager approved my certificate? She says she can’t replace my 11$ sandwich without manager approval… then called back while I was at work the next day to let me know she could…needless to say, I didn’t make that trip to even waste my gas…. AWFUL service, AWFUL food….. I’m so glad I didn’t spend my actual money at this...

Fishtales has an interesting environment! They are always very well themed. The month of October had very good Halloween decor. They hosted a 20s party that was also very well decorated.

As far as food, it was fair priced and pretty good. I had steak and shrimp. Honestly, I was disappointed in the fact that I ordered my steak medium rare, yet received it well done. The grilled shrimp, however, were wonderful and the sidewinder fries were pretty good as well. A good value for the price.

My biggest concern of this establishment is poor service. I have visited 3 times now and been almost completely ignored by the bartenders, even when it isn't as busy. It took over an hour and a half to get service to order food, and I had to flag down a server, even after notifying the bar I would be dining.

Even just trying to get a drink at the bar took major effort. The bartender would make eye contact but turn away to another customer, even if I were waving to gain their attention. The one on duty at my last visit was also unaware of the prices and very unfriendly.

I will give this place about 6/10 because it has truly been a hit or miss. I will give it another try just because the major effort put into decor and the food was decent. My only suggestion is to work on customer service and better wait...

Our blended family (Black, White, and Mexican) had a very disappointing experience at Fish Tales Pub & Grill in Brunswick. We were told to seat ourselves upon arrival and received a cold, unwelcoming reception. Drink orders were mishandled – simple requests (like a lemon for water) were ignored, and the “lemonade” tasted like plain water. Service was extremely slow; we waited over an hour for our food with no refills or updates during the wait.

Even more troubling was the differential treatment we felt. The server’s tone and attentiveness noticeably changed when interacting with our Black family members, leaving us feeling unwelcome and discriminated against. When our meals finally arrived, the dishes were handed to us abruptly without any courtesy. Most alarming, we found a hard piece of plastic under the hamburger patty of one of our meals, one which was order by a black member – a serious food safety hazard and an odd coincidence considering. In the end we paid and even left a tip, but we left feeling disrespected and concerned.
