I've always tried to rate a restaurant for what it is within its category. And if there was ever a place that screamed, "Come on in y'all for some good old fashioned Southern home cooking", this is it. It's a modified buffet style where you tell them what you want and they plop down a generous portion of it on to your plate. Serve yourself at the salad bar though. All the usual dishes you'd expect on an old fashioned southern table: from fried chicken to ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, rice, mixed vegetables, green beans, stewed cabbage, biscuits, peach cobbler etc. They do what they do, and it's done right. You ain't gonna leave hungry, or broke. But you will leave with a smile, an invitation to come back, and the memory of one of the better old-school meals you may have had in the south.

I eat here often, and the buffet is always good. The banana pudding is the best I’ve ever had! I always eat too much. The buffet has a good variety, and it’s reasonably priced. Service here is fast and friendly. They always treat you like family! Oh, and if you come on Sunday for lunch, get here as early as you can. The line is out the door! I don’t blame anybody for waiting though. It’s that good!

Home cooking! Go back in time to the meat and 2 veggie lunch. Get the cooked carrots!! Oh and we bought an extra banana pudding to eat later because it was perfect! Made from scratch, thank you!!! Simple place, solid food, lovely staff and nice locals:-)

Finally after passing this restaurant for at least 10 years on my thru Clayton to Franklin NC we stopped in. Now when I say we stopped in we drove down from Franklin for lunch and were not disappointed. Because of covid-19 it's cafeteria style now. They serve you from behind plexiglass and be careful it's all good home cooking and it's ala-carte. Standard plate is a meat two veggies and a bread. A drink is a buck so total your around $8.00. But like I said it all looks so good you can get carried away by adding extra veggies and meat. It's well worth it if you have the appetite for all the extras you add. It's family run and you feel it soon as you walk in with a warm welcome and the local chatter going on with the other patrons as well. It sits back a little from the highway so have a scout with you to spot them. So should you stop in well No if you do not like home cooking and prefer fast food. However need a smile and a hot meal by all means stop by and relax...

Been going for a little over 20years and until last visit have had a great experience.we stopped in recently and it was very busy and we were seated way in back.my girlfriend is on a walker so i went up to buffet to get our plates.i figured i would get us something to get started and let her know the items they had.i was disappointed with the meat selections and got fish(only 1 pc. And 2 vegetables.in the 20 plus years we have never been asked if you want a plate or the buffet.we figured it was all you can eat...period.i was reminded no less than 3 times if you get anything else make sure they add it to your ticket.this last visit was my only dissappointment but since were from out of town probably be...
