So here's the thing about this place. The food is absolutely the best mexican food around, but their service...or basic comprehension of a simple request....leaves a lot to be desired.

Nachos, for example. You can't get the standard nachos without lettuce. Read that twice. You can't get them WITHOUT lettuce. You ask them "No lettuce" and they say "we can't do that". Not asking for a discount. Not asking for anything extra. Just asking you not to pile a mountain of lettuce on the nachos. Some people don't like lettuce. So, in order to get nachos without lettice, you have to order the 'texas" nachos...which they'll let you fully customize....almost. You CAN get the "texas" nachos without lettuce. But if you walk in and order them to go...and ask them to put the chips in a separate bag so they don't get soggy on the trip home, nope! Can't do that. Again Not asking for a discount. Not asking for anything extra. Just a simple accommodation for a to-go order...and both of the requests just mentioned actually make it EASIER on the employee?

You're sitting less than 100 yards off of the south gate of an AIR FORCE BASE. The diversity of clientel coming from that base has to be wider than any place in town. As such, you must understand that someone might not like 1/2 pound of lettuce, overloaded jalepenos, or soggy chips. How difficult is that? We love the food. But I'm not certain we'll be back just on the uncooperative nature of the staff. Ridiculous! They haven't always...

First time ever trying out the La Taqueria Mexican Grill back in 2021 and our last! Terrible experience overall!

We had come in after 6:30pm to do a take out order. Wasn't busy by any means! We ordered a few meals, cheese dip, and some chips and salsa. Took them 45 minutes to get us all our food because we were waiting quite long on chips and salsa (I paid for that also). The chips and salsa were given away to another customer. I showed an employee and an older lady behind the counter my receipt for paid chips and salsa. They appeared clueless! Told them they gave away my chips and salsa. Rambled something to each other, and finally I got the chips and salsa! Absolutely no apology for their mistake! Frustrated with the situation- out we went!

Note: The cheese dip had no flavor and tasted disgusting! The shrimp fajitas we ordered was shrimp in a container, mixed with only some onions! There were no bell peppers, no zucchini, no squash, and no mushrooms! The fajitas were suppose to come with the veggies as stated in the menu description.

PAY ATTENTION...

La Tacqueria offers mid-class TexMex of all varieties. Little offers for Vegan, but plenty for Vegetarians.

Customer Service is somewhat poor--they make food that people love enough to accept a lot of rules and stipulations to your order.

Don't expect to make a custom order, ask for substitutions, or pay with anything but cash or Visa--but do make sure to ask for any of their variety of extremely hot and fresh salsas to toss with lime on your fresh, delicious tacotes.

Everything on their menu is made to order except for the tortillas, so expect a wait time of 10-15 minutes at a minimum. Calling your order in is the best way to save some time.

Most popular menu items are the gouda cheese dip, tacotes, and street tacos--but feel free to try just about anything, you won't be disappointed. I personally recommend the tostadas and carne azada as my favorite menu items.

Be polite and respectful, because the store owners know they can do just fine without your business if they...

In Valdosta, GA…it can be hard to find food spots for tacos. This place is very unassuming, affordable and overall decent. At $2 a taco, it’s not bad. I’ve paid more for worse in other places across the south. By far, my favorite has been the al pastor. I’m just not convinced with the tortillas and the salsas. I feel like a better corn tortilla would really make the taco worth the $2. Be advised, they will not give you water with your meal. If you want water, you have to buy a bottle of water. Silverware is also self service because to the soft drink machine. If you ask for anything, you’ll be pointed to where you can get it yourself. All in all…I’m sure I’ll keep coming back as long as we’re in south Georgia.

We’re recovering from the effects of Hurricane Idalia and that includes but is not limited to having no electricity going on the third day. La Taqueria Mexican Grill was a bright ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. My wife ordered the steak quesadillas, which she said was very tasty, so much so that she would eat it even without the steak. Wow! I ordered the Texas Nachos with Steak, and it was absolutely amazing! Fresh nachos, grilled steak, green peppers, queso cheese, onions, and refried beans helped to make up an amalgamation of delicious flavors. I’ve been to Mexico, and I know authentic Mexican food when I taste it. So, I’m going to take it upon myself to name this place ā€œLittle Mexicoā€. Need I say more?

The food is always delicious! The quesadillas are the best you will find in the area. My husband loves their nachos. I find the prices to be fair, they don't charge extra for steak in dishes like many chain restaurants. I'm all for paying what they need to be kept open. It's a small, family-owned and operated restaurant with quality food which is hard to find in Valdosta. The only thing I can see them improving upon is making sure the little salsa containers are full, especially since they charge extra if you order more than 1 or 2. Sometimes they're only a quarter to a half of the way full. Other than that everything is perfect and I'm a customer for as long as I'm living in Valdosta.
