Family Pizza House — Restaurant in Georgia

Family Pizza, located across from Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta GA, is a legendary food establishment that has been serving the civilian and military community for over 42 years. I have been a patron of this restaurant since it opened. The food has always been fresh, timely and delicious! It is a landmark for those serving at Moody AFB who have eaten there while on-duty and while off-work. The restaurant is full of military memorabilia (pictures, signs, caps and patches) that has been donated by military personnel since Family Pizza first opened its doors. The Panousis family has continually been the sole proprietors of this distinguished eatery. There are no "strangers" at Family Pizza. Everyone is treated as a valued customer and friend there wether it's there first time or one millionth time eating there. I highly recommend this restaurant as a "must try" to anyone looking to find authentic Greek and Italian food for a reasonable price. I have ordered four times from this restaurant. The first time was October 2017, then again in Nov. The pizza was awesome. I ordered again when I had some family members here February of this year and this time we ordered items off the dinner menu instead of pizza. It was very disappointing, the portion sizes were small for what they charge and the gyro meat tasted like it was old. We decided to stay away from the dinner menus and just order the pizza which we did again in March of this year and it was nothing in comparison to the same exact Pizza we ordered last year. I have been a Family Pizza Customer since 1993 when we were transfered to Moody AFB from a Base Closure. They welcomed us like Family. Mr. Nick Sr was a true Patriot! He was Greek and lived through WWII in Greece as a child. He loved America and the Military that defended it. His special sauce that his Son Nick Jr has carried on can not be beat! The Lasagna is my absolute favorite however I have never had a dish that I did not like. The pizza dough is made from scratch fresh everyday.
