This is my 2nd home up here and I invited my friends from Florida who decided to stay at The Ridges while visiting me. I have been to the vineyard myself many times and I do enjoy the food trucks they bring to the farmhouse. I would never normally write a bad review, particularly with restaurants, as there are many wonderful restaurants popping up here now. Unfortunately, this is not one of them. I feel I have a duty to warn. There was nothing particularly French nor "fine dining" about it. When we sat, yes, the water was in cute jugs with stoppers, but as someone else previously posted here in reviews, the stoppers were filthy and filled with mold. 2 in my group ordered the seafood salad and were surprised how tangy it was (I'll explain what happened afterwards), I ordered the chicken salad which was nearly all apples and tasted extremely past its prime. I have a strong suspicion that since they are basically open 3 days a week that they save this food and continue to serve it the following week, especially after what happened to my friends (explaining that in a moment). Everything else seemed microwaved. We could tell with many items but particularly the pot roast was unbelievably boiling hot. My friends also commented that a lot of items seemed microwaved. I don't know why water was added to my lobster bisque. I know that because when it was served to me, my soup with cream did not mix with the water added, and I had a waterline, completely separate from the soup. Yes, it tasted of lobster but there was not even a smidge of lobster in it. We are used to high prices everywhere, but I really couldn't justify the price of the Croque Monsieur. Although it was a ciabatta roll, it was the size of a dinner roll. And French ham? It was sliced regular deli meat. No fries or anything with it, so many friend's husband had to order a side of fries. The fries were obviously frozen with some sort of steak seasoning, a far cry from their "rosemary pomme frites". Also, to note, my friends and I have traveled quite a bit as a group, and there is something wrong with their butter. It tastes very off. We're used to clarified butters, different butters, compound butters etc, but something was very off, so it's quite possible we got sick from a combination of old seafood salad and old butter. Also Those biscuits 100% do not seem homemade. They have a transparency quality statement on the menu that says they slow cook their pot roast on Saturdays. So...order on a Friday and it's from last Saturday? This is why the consensus of our group thought food was saved for the following week because they are only open a few days. You cannot do that with food! Particularly seafood salad. Also, it was surprising in this "fine dining" establishment to see the owner come out in a T-shirt with both sides cut completely up so everything was hanging out, with jeans on. Not to be rude, but as the owner of "fine dining", you should throw on a chef coat or at least appear presentable. Now, this is the warning... Both my friends that ordered the seafood salad got violently ill. I mean, terrible. They had nonrefundable horse riding lessons at the other resort but were in bed for 2 days with food poisoning. Finally, on their last day, they were able to use the pool. I have an iron stomach but my stomach was not good after that chicken salad. In short, I believe they save food and re-serve it the following week, a lot of the food seems microwaved, the health department should probably also take a look at what's going on there, and the vineyard should continue with their wonderful food trucks. Be wary if going and don't feel the need to be "polite" and continue to eat like we did, if the food tastes off.I really do think Crane Creek should reexamine what type of restaurant would complement the vineyard. I honestly feel this place is a tourist trap/lie/scam. Nothing is homemade. I'm sorry to have to write such a review but our experience was...
Read moreAs others have noted, the food here is hit or miss. The kids chicken tenders and fries seemed fresh—I’d give them a 9/10. The lamb was decent (7/10), but the ribeye Oscar was shockingly flavorless and underwhelming, especially at a $50 price point. The Brie appetizer was described as baked but arrived breaded and fried—not what we expected, and not very good. The bread was stale, and most concerningly, the water jar had visible black mold on the rubber gasket, suggesting it hadn’t been properly cleaned in some time.
There was no offer to adjust the bill or make amends for the disappointing dishes. The chef also wouldn’t accommodate a request for a kid-sized pasta portion and salad for my nearly 70-year-old mother. She was required to order a full entrée—more than she wanted—which led her to skip the salad altogether to avoid waste.
The ambiance and service were both pleasant, but given the quality of the food and the lack of responsiveness to feedback, the $315 bill for three adults and one child felt excessive. I’ve eaten here before for lunch with my wife and had a much better experience, but this visit missed the mark. For a more consistent and better-valued dining experience in the area, Epic in Hayesville has delivered every time—though, unfortunately, it doesn’t come with a...
Read moreWe made a reservation at Paris & Company October 14th, for our anniversary of October 31st at 1:00 PM.
We arrived on time and got a table. We were able to order wine, appetizer, and entrees right away, but after that things went badly.
As time went on people finished and left, and new people arrived, including a couple in my line-of-sight a few tables away. They arrived perhaps 30 minutes after we got there but at that point I had no reason to make note of the exact time they arrived.
We waited and waited as customers came, ate, and left, and also as that other table in my view who got two pieces of quiche.
Finally at 2:04 PM we asked if we could just pay for our drinks and and leave. Surprise! The waitress finally showed up and told us she was so sorry, they ran our of quiche. I pointed out that the other table got two pieces long after we'd ordered the same. Then she said lame things about it was all her fault. Yep, true.
None of the other restaurant staff stopped by during all this even though it was obvious we were waiting, waiting... it seemed the woman behind the bar was practicing her best eye-contact-avoidance, which was funny. we were there so long and she had to keep it up the entire time.
I would never ever go there again, ESPECIALLY if it is a...
