I couldnāt review this place fast enough upon walking out their door, because Iām disgusted with the way my family (Myself, my Wife and 2 young kids) was treated. I have to preface, we were very excited to try Patās, so much so, that when we showed up and found out they didnāt open until 11am, we drove around for an hour before arriving for a second time. As my family and I walked through the door, we were greeted by a woman who took us to our table. When I say greeted, I mean we were confronted with a woman with a scowl who looked at the ground and ushered us quickly to our table, not saying a word. Soon enough we were greeted by our server who told that Patās is a local place with loyal customers and then walked away. I immediately wanted to leave, but my wife, although in agreement with me, wanted to stay to feed our kids and TOUGH it out. The server dropped, and I mean DROPPED my kids food in front of them. The server never asked about how our food was, never asked if we needed anything else, never asked about our drinks (even seeing that we needed refills), didnāt clear our dirty dishes and threw the check on the table and walked away. Itās clear we were OUTSIDERS, and were treated as such. I 100% respect this town, the locals and their way of life. I understand my family didnāt grow up here. However, weāve been coming here since 2005 and just purchased a home here. I will say this is the first time over the last 20 years of visiting the area that we were treated with disrespect. My wife and I continue to have conversations with our kids about respecting others and supporting local businesses and how important both are in a small town. Patās is 100% stuck in the 60ās and there is no place in todayās world for this type of behavior or lack of basic human respect for patrons. Come on Patāsā¦You arenāt chasing us out of town, but one thing is for sure, we will NEVER return to your restaurant. The food could be amazing, but we will not support their business due to how they treat ānon-localā patrons. Honestly, opening a Country Kitchen of my own is now at the top of my bucket list. Everyone will be welcome and will feel that in their bones the minute...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDisappointing lunch visit on Saturday, Oct. 22. For a good many years, whenever we were traveling through the area we have always stopped to eat here and have recommended this restaurant to others. We have always really liked it before and looked forward to having a meal here. Upon entering, no staff greeted us. Even though there were not that many customers already seated and there were a good many empty tables, we still had to wait over 5 or more minutes to be seated. Short staffed? There seemed to be only 2 maybe 3 waitress/servers taking your food order and another server bringing your food to your table. Perhaps, thereās been a change in cooks & maybe pricing??? Yesterday, my husband had meatloaf, mashed potatoes & green beans plus a cold roll. I ordered a bowl of chili (no crackers offered) served with a grilled cheese sandwich. We both had iced tea and coconut cream pie. By the time I left a $9 tip for our waitress, $52.81 was spent for a disappointing lunch. (Yes, I left a tip because it was not the fault if our waitress that the food was so disappointing.) That is certainly not what we normally spend for lunch at a small town family style restaurant like this. My husbandās food was not served hot or even particularly warm. Mashed potatoes seemed to be instant and green beans seemed to be out of a can. I could not eat more than half of my small bowl of chili. Very spicy and thick more like chili con carne from a can. The grilled cheese tasted okay but cheese was not heated until melted or gooey. The pie dessert portion was huge, however I took a few bites of my coconut cream pie (served in a to go container) and I didnāt particularly like the taste of it. My husband finished it. We took the second piece with us for my husband to eat later since it cost nearly $6. Sadly, Iām not sure we will ever bother to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis restuarant was our choice for a late arrival to a cabin in the area. The cabin hand a brochure for this place and they still open. We decided to eat here. The place looked nice enough on the inside and outside and really looked like good ol country cooking kinda place. We wohld be totally wrong. Multiple orders were placed, from chicken and dumplings to steak and a burger. Best thing order was a fried chicken tenders meal and a kids meal. Steak was a thin piece of something that looked like it came from Wal-Mart, A1 sauce was asked for and the first bottle poured out like someone had put water in the bottle to stretch it out. It was literally water which was horrible and ruined the steak. Burger was not a fresh patty bit something that was pre patted and frozen. Cooked it was nothing far from a hockey puck. French fries were cold. The other meal was chicken and dumplings this was far from homemade chicken and dumplings, tasted like something that came from a Campbell's can. Resturant was totally empty except for one other family eating we were sat right behind them. They didn't speak the entire time. The whole experience was eerie and strange. Waitress was nice enough but I would never eat there again. McDonald's would have been a...
