We went there last night and it was packed. We waited at the bar, which was fun. After 20 minutes we were seated next to two large parties that were celebrating birthdays. It was loud... to the point you could hardly hear yourself.
Normally, this genre of restaurants are exceptionally fast once you've placed your orders. It seems as though most of their menu is already precooked for the day and they throw it in the oven for 5 minutes... well apparently "oven space" was an issue on this night because it too an exceptionally long time to get our food served. To that, I attribute to circumstance.
The food arrived but and looked great. Unfortunately, it was lacking in flavor. Imagine eating a saltine cracker.. that doesn't have any salt.
Service was hyper focused on the celebrations and peasley us had to wave down any service we could get (yes we started grabbing other waitresses attention just to get something to drink -- including getting the check for that matter -- and running the card).
So the icing on the cake for us was when the staff came out like a bomb just went off with their clackers and "volume 11" shouting for the honorable birthday person. It was like someone just shot off a round. Keep in mind, it was already an obnoxiously loud ambiance. And then again -- no sooner does our heart rate return to normal, when suddenly there's another one! God help it -- this is a potential choking hazard!
If you're into that "Chucky Cheese" experience with a salt free Mexican menu, this is the place for you.
I think my lesson I learned to learn is to avoid restaurants that are the "go to" for a large housing development area. .. especially if they...

EDIT 5/2/19 - I don't normally give bad reviews b/c of service but the rudeness of the staff here merits it. We were regular customers here, eating here at least once a week, sometimes more often. The last time we went (won't be back!), we politely asked our waiter to turn the music down because we couldn't even talk over the speaker right above our heads. The waiter did so but apparently asking to turn the music down was gravely offensive and less than 2 minutes later the manager, while glaring at us, walked up to the stereo system and turned it up even louder than before. The manager knew us, we'd been in many times, we've always left great tips, we were always very respectful, etc. I really don't understand behaviour like this. Like I said, I don't usually give bad reviews for bad service, let alone edit an existing good review but I think this time...
Read moreWOW! My family and I just wanted to head out for a quick Mexican dinner and I found Tapatios after a Google search. Absolutely the best authentic street-style tacos I've ever had (I tried three different ones - don't miss the chorizo). All four of us at the table were thrilled with our food, but that doesn't tell half of the story. Carlos (who works Friday, Saturday and Sunday only) took care of us: he must be Canton's best waiter. He walked each of us through some options that fit our tastes and even got to know us personally while very kindly welcoming us to the area. The owners and family are on-staff as well and "Mrs. Tapatio" stopped by to personally check on us.
We'll return for the food...but we'll wait for Carlos if need be! We could not have asked for a better experience. So nice to find authentic, REAL Mexican food served by such a gracious and kind young guy. Heck, we might be back next Friday! Keep...
