Thatcher's Barbecue & Grill — Restaurant in Georgia

Stopped in today for our first time and after ordering waited an hour just to get our food. The kitchen sounded so disorganized, as they were yelling to eachother where pans were or that they were out of multiple food sides: mac n cheese, soup, cole slaw and more when reviewing already printed tickets. One worker overheard when my father and I were talking at the 40 min marl and went to ask the kitchen where our food was and I overheard the kitchen say that they were five tickets behind. Though the lady never came back and informed us. Another customer was suprised at how long we were qaiting but reassured us this place was good. When we finally got our food they offered us a drink which was great, thank you, but upon getting home our food was wrong. We were completely dissapointed! My mom was supposed to get a Confetti Spud but her food didnt come with any melted cheddar cheese or jack cheese but with what looked queso cheese. No black beans. No ranch. No sour cream [even though I ordered extra]. My dad ordered a Brickhouse spud, which didnt come any sour cream, either. Then for my kids I ordered a kids mac n cheese with a side of fries and received a grilled cheese instead. Also the strawberry puddin wasnt pudding at all, but strawberry glaze mixed with cool whip and strawberry slices. 😒

I was hoping this would have been a new place for us to go, but instead disappointed my family for suggesting this place, as theg were starving when we got home and my mom ended up not even...

I travel quite a bit for work, which means that I often get the opportunity to try many different places to eat. On my trip this week, I decided to grab some barbecue, and I’m so glad that I did.

I placed my order online for take out, and was surprised to see how quickly it said that my order would be ready. I hopped in the car and drove the 10 minutes, thinking to myself that there was no way that the timing was accurate. I arrived and went inside and my order was ready and waiting! Talk about fast service! The staff was SUPER friendly and I immediately felt welcomed and valued. Quite often to-go orders are quick and less than personable, but not at Thatchers. I spoke with two servers, and both were super friendly and took the extra time to make sure I was happy.

Service was great, how was the food? AWESOME! By far THE best meal I’ve had. I ordered their brisket tacos, and it may seem like I’m exaggerating, but it was seriously the best taco I’ve ever had (and I’ve traveled to 46 States!)

The food was so good that I stopped by the next day to order one of every taco they offer to bring back the 4 hour drive home, because there was no way I was going to pass up sharing with my wife how good the food was. She’s a bit of a picky eater and she was so happy that I stopped here again to bring home dinner.

We have been eating at Thatchers Ringgold for the past 6 years that we have lived here. It never fails on taste and quality! It’s the very best bbq I’ve ever tasted out of any other bbq place in the area hands down. Before living in Ringgold, me and my wife ate at the Trenton, GA location, where me and my wife are both from, which is home to the very first location and where it all started. As a teenager, I watched Thatchers grow from a small hut where you walked up to the window and ordered and took it home or ate at a picnic table under the shade trees to a sit down restaurant with waitresses with multiple locations that continues growing and food that everybody absolutely loves. I personally know the owners from growing up in Trenton, GA and they are wonderful people! I never would have expected that little hut in Trenton to grow into what it has become today and continuing to become but when you taste the food for the first time and see how generous they are with the food on the plate you will understand why everybody loves Thatchers bbq. We love the Porky Bucket, which is enough food for me and my wife to share and get full on by itself! They are the best in the business!! Hope they continue expanding the business because everybody deserves the chance to taste that...
