Tobacco Shack and Market — Restaurant in Georgia

DON'T DO IT!! First we had a 20-30 minute wait for the lady to come back from picking up her kids. No brisket which is what we wanted, owner says "I wish I would've known ya'll wanted brisket, I forgot to stop past the restaurant to pick it up this morning. I could've gotten it when I just picked up my kids!". Like how was we supposed to know to tell you to get something you already have on the menu?! I said "oh, I saw it on your menu from the pictures online. You don't usually have it, you get it from somewhere else?" She says "yeah, a lot of people mix me up with the restaurant and be posting the pictures to my page because they know I'm the same person from the restaurant". I say "oh so we should've just went there. What is it called?" She bypassed that question... but on to the food- Ribs were not cooked enough and didn't have much flavor at all. I love a good sausage, but that just was not it. The mac and cheese was cheesy but didn't taste like anything but noodle. Broccoli and rice casserole (the only option other than mac and cheese or fries); first off what BBQ spot has that as a side? 😕 I asked if it was cheesy, she says "it's a little cheesy, not really but I can tell you it has minced garlic in it." Garlic was the only thing you tasted. Best thing we had from her were the lemon pepper wings and fries, but the wings were miniature! They were not even one whole bite, look at the picture of the wing on the condiment cup. Not worth the wait or the $60 we wasted. I would never go back there nor...

To my fellow truckers... come here to eat! You won't regret it, I promise! Park at the Love's or Pilot, and it'll be in walking distance. Let me tell you about what my wife and I had to eat. I got the Rib plate with baked beans and coleslaw. The ribs fell off the bone and seasoned right! Didn't really need any sauce. Them there baked beans was beaning, and the coleslaw was perfect! My wife had the lemon pepper wings and fries. The wings are party wings, seasoned just right, and the fries were crisp, as they were made to order.

Now, when you pay for your order, you have to go into the vape shop, which they own as well. They have a selection of various vapes, black and milds, cigarettes, and snacks, including drinks. Mr. Biggs was a pleasure to speak with while my order was being prepared by his wife. She does the cooking, and he does the talking 😆! If you're wondering, would I go back there to eat again... let me tell you about life real quick... if I were to find out where they lived, it could be 3 in the morning, and I'm knocking on the door, big trust! I got the rib plate with baked beans and coleslaw. All three items were not kidding the best I have ever had! I'm a picky coleslaw eater too and this stuff was fire. Ribs falling off the bone. Don't even need any sauce. So often baked beans are just filled with way too much brown sugar. This had the perfect mix of a little sweet, a little heat and a little acid, i'm guessing vinegar, for a perfect balance of delicious. I'm a truck driver and these truck stops near here are pretty much a charlie foxtrot. But I would brave these awful stops anytime to come back for this food!

Update: So I FINALLY made it back here after a year. Arrived just before closing and wanted the ribs but they were out so went with the brisket this time. Really really good! I've been all across this country and had barbecue in Texas, Carolinas, Arkansas, Kansas City even a couple truly bad places in Idaho and Oregon. This small little place in Jackson, Georgia has my favorite in the country. Seriously get over here and get some! And sorry that you get these haters man! Keep making...
