Being an American woman I’m very familiar with African food and I have my favorite dishes that I love to have on my days off so coming here for the first time I was a little disturbed by the fact that the African female employees eyeballed me from the moment I came into the restaurant spoke to me rude and handled my food disrespectfully when serving me, I’m not sure if it’s because I wasn’t an African female and they were probably wondering what I was doing there but it was very rude and uncomfortable, my son just wanted to leave also they didn’t have a cash register so they charged up on everything so that they didn’t have to give change. Once I got home and opened up my container it was practically empty she didn’t give me a full portion sizes it look like she gave me slop smh I also purchased in order of plantain and when I opened the container there was only 5 in there about 2 inches in size each, not bigger than my thumb and was charge 5 dollars for it... this never would’ve happened at King Caribbean on Austell Road… Give them a try instead!! Also read the other reviews, they only get good reviews from Africans and Jamaicans etc they treat Americans poorly and give us less food....the reviews speak for them self!!! They will serve or treat Americans better...the plaintain were dry and cold!!! Served me slop and took my cash and even the female customers sat rolling their eyes at me smh I’m disappointed!!! Read moreI heard this was a nice restaurant which delicious food. It's straight GARBAGE! GO TO KING CARIBBEAN on Austell Road Plz!!! I brought a friend in to try it. I've been eating Nigerian food for years and am opening up family members and friends to expand their minds and enjoy it as well. When we walked in the owner was rude. She had a nasty attitude. I hate when I travel somewhere to patronize any restaurant or store and a person is rude to me. It's terrble.. I asked if my friend could have a sample of the the Joloff bcus she hadn't tried it b4. The owner said she doesn't do that, but with an attitude. I let that slide.. Then I asked if I could see the food under the metal tops. So she casually lifted the tops quickly as if I'm agitating her!!?!? WTH! I said never mind. I'll cook my own Joloff and walked out. She needs work on that attitude. I went in bragging about the food and walked out apologizing for bringing her into that environment. I told her all Nigerians do not act like this plz excuse her. She should start giving small sample in a little cup with a little spoon. It one way of building relationships in ur community and more ppl will buy if they know it's good. And also the owner needs to take customer seervice classes. Chick-filet-A should help her. Her staff even seems scared to confront her or ask questions. Its Terrible! I would not be surprized if it closes for good! Hopefully that Lady will turn around for...
Read moreI don't usually review but i will for this restaurant. Food is ok. Service is absolutely TERRIBLE. I ordered a rice stew dish (ayamase & rice) which comes with fried plantain. I noticed there was no plantain in the to-go box and told the server. She tells me they don't have any ready at the moment. So i asked for some sort of substitute or more portion of some food (More rice, stew or meat etc) and she said NO we don't do that. Zero flexibility..Zero attempt to apply customer service. We live in USA!! I find it extremely irresponsible to charge full price for an item but get partial amount of the food. Complete rip off. I also ordered Jellof rice a week before and also was not given plantain and was not told either. After i complained they proceeded to fry plantain and i had to wait about 20 minutes to get it. Why did i have to complain? Should they not mention this? To make matters worse i purchased stew in the past and was charged $10 and i wanted to order the same stew 2 weeks later and it changed to $25?? Like how does you pricing fluctuate like that within 2 weeks. Server could care less about ironing out the issue.I will not be back!! Horrible service like this makes it difficult to support Nigerian Local businesses. Do...
