Visited the Woodlands Grill for Mother's day based on our previous experiences there which were very good. Well, it appears that the main focus was clearly on the other main restaurant. And rightfully so as I'm sure there was more business? Nonetheless, I would say that the food was subpar, over-priced, and the menu did not seem to be clear. For example, there were 2 orders of Eggs Benedict at our table. And both were missing an English muffin. I would think for 22$ that would go without saying. And the potatoes included with them were very greasy. I ordered the brisket hash which was tasty. However, there were no heirloom tomatoes anywhere on the plate and the egg was over cooked and not over-easy as requested? Any reputable cook and or food establishment would recognize that any type of hash or eggs Benedict would have nicely appropriately cooked eggs? Which would be over-easy. Anyway this just leads me to the conclusion that whomever was in the kitchen that day did not have the proper experience....obviously if you can't properly execute an over-easy cooked egg. So this is part of the reason why I would say the experience was very disappointing. Oh so my wife ordered a hamburger to share with our 4 year old. Apparently there is a 5$ charge for splitting meals. Are you kidding me? To charge any amount of money seems a bit tacky to me? I mean the burger was literally cut-in-half and put on 2 plates? Yes they separated the side which was French fries but it was not a greater amount? So again 26$ basically for a bacon burger which my wife did say was o.k. seems a bit steep to me?? And also my issue is, if you are going to charge a fee for splitting food items, it would be nice to have that articulated to us from the server! And one last thing in regards to our server. She was very nice and friendly. However when we were receiving the bill, we wanted confirmation if the gratuity was included. There was a line that did indicate 20% was included. So upon our inquiry, her response was that she did not receive all of that tip and she wasn't sure where of all the gratuity went?? Hmm either shame on the restaurant for not giving their employees what seems rightfully theirs or shame on the server for basically soliciting a bigger tip? I thought 20% was appropriate but that response seemed very odd to me. Again more of our issues are related to the kitchen ? All-in-all it was just not a great experience. I feel like I would be remiss if I didn't say anything? We love the resort and some of the amenities but I honestly don't know that I would ever go back to the Woodlands Grill and that's very disappointing! To even rate my experience 2 stars seems a bit...
Read moreAn unexpected find within a well manicured and relaxing resort near Adairsville, Ga. Woodlands Grill is one of a small number of restaurants within the property. Reservations are required and dress is generally business casual. Nice shorts are acceptable as well. Overall, the food was very good and reasonably priced, in my opinion for the environment. The fried lobster appetizer was small, but very good, while the crab & shrimp chorizo queso not so good in my opinion. The cheese seemed like nothing more than melted Velveeta, was salty and had no visible crab. Our main entrées however were delightful! The bacon wrapped pork tenderloin was excellent and its sauce incredible! The steak au poivre was cooked perfectly, very tender and also exceptional! Drink choices were ample and the wine list long. Service was very good, although there were a few issues with unusually long wait times for appetizer arrival and appetizers not arriving at same time. The staff however did their best to comfort the situation and we were forgiving of it as well. To us, it was nice just getting out! A 20% gratuity is automatically included in your bill and they will be very thankful for your additional tips of course. Our bill for two was just shy of $300, but naturally this depends on what you order and any additional tip you provide. Overall, a wonderful evening at Woodlands Grill in Barnsley Gardens. We plan to go back out again very soon to experience more of what this property...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at the Woodlands Grill at Barnsley Resort and it was truly an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere, which perfectly complemented the delicious food and exceptional service.
The menu offered a wide range of options, from classic Southern favorites to more contemporary dishes, all made with the freshest and highest-quality ingredients. I especially enjoyed the wood-fired pizzas, which were absolutely delicious, and the grilled shrimp and grits, which were bursting with flavor.
But what really stood out to me was the level of service. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, professional, and eager to ensure that my dining experience was perfect. From recommendations on wine pairings to ensuring that my food was prepared to my liking, they went above and beyond to make sure I had an unforgettable meal.
The ambiance of the restaurant is also worth mentioning. The rustic decor and cozy fireplace created a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, which was perfect for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Woodlands Grill at Barnsley Resort to anyone looking for exceptional food, outstanding service, and a memorable dining experience. Thank you to the entire staff for a truly...
