Edited 7/19/24 passing through the area again about 2 years after my initial review of 5 stars. Loved this place so much the first time we made it a point to stop on our way back. The food was excellent- no complaints. I am lowering my stars from 5 to 4 solely because of the service. The woman taking orders was rude- that's the best way I can describe it. unlike the first visit there was no greetings from any one. the female taking orders was very grumpy, no smile, very short with her words. she was impatient, and pushy. she wanted us through the line and that was it. we are outsiders, not from the area. It is apparent that this is a local place, and it was apparent not just from the individual taking the order but from others working there that if they don't know you they are not really going to be nice to you. definitely didn't feel as welcoming as before, and we were uncomfortable. huge shift in atmosphere. Would probably try this place again because it is just that good. But would hope to find a more welcoming environment.
Initial post 2 years ago: We were just passing through and saw the road signs for BBQ and decided to give it a try. So glad we did! Everything was cook very well. the rub used was on point- several sauces choose from. between the 6 of us (2 adults 4 kids) we had the ribs, brisket, shredded pork, and ham- all of it awesome. would totally recommend the sugar footer. Bake beans were a hit for all of us. we had a mix of the taters and fries- both were great, my favorite was the taters. Recommend this...
Read moreI have been coming to Sugarfoot for many years and I can attest to how delicious the food is. I genuinely crave their cheeseburger from thousands of miles away, multiple times a year. However, the service here is always incredibly mid. Anytime I ask for something I am left feeling stupid and bothersome as the staff seems to get irritated anytime you request anything at all. Additionally, it is alarming how consistently unprepared they are. For example, I just dined in the restaurant this Saturday afternoon where they were a bit more busy than usual (Saturday afternoon rush), and they were out of pretty much everything in terms of topping for burgers. They advertise that the sandwich comes with lettuce, onion, and pickles, and we were just given two minuscule shreds of lettuce per person. When my mother went to the counter to ask for onions, the staff told her “Yes we have onion, but we would have to cut it up and I can’t do that right now.” As a paying customer, it’s incredibly frustrating to experience this type of treatment, and I think it would benefit the restaurant a lot if they would prepare more in advance for an incoming busy day and remind their staff how customers...

My family and I decided after a long drive we’d stop into this “legendary bbq” restaurant and I have to admit, we were pretty stoked about all the hype. When we walked in, the smell was amazing and it was difficult to decided what we wanted. When we finally decided to place our order, the young woman (whose name I did not catch) was an absolutely peach (this is sarcasm). Not only did she not greet us, but she made us feel absolutely stupid when we tried to ask about certain menu items. I think she may have been having a rough day or something - we’ve all had those, but unfortunately it just set an unpleasant mood in the air during our lunch which was very unfortunate since the food was delicious! Food AMAZING. Recommend the Burnt Ends. Service - could have been way better. The food for me is the only reason I’m making this 3 stars. If it wasn’t for that, I’d rate much lower because of the disappointment in the management choice to put her on the register. Also would have tipped if we at least would have heard the words “thank you” from her. Such a...
