Edited 7/19/24 passing through the area again about 2 years after my initial review of 5 stars. Loved this place so much the first time we made it a point to stop on our way back. The food was excellent- no complaints. I am lowering my stars from 5 to 4 solely because of the service. The woman taking orders was rude- that's the best way I can describe it. unlike the first visit there was no greetings from any one. the female taking orders was very grumpy, no smile, very short with her words. she was impatient, and pushy. she wanted us through the line and that was it. we are outsiders, not from the area. It is apparent that this is a local place, and it was apparent not just from the individual taking the order but from others working there that if they don't know you they are not really going to be nice to you. definitely didn't feel as welcoming as before, and we were uncomfortable. huge shift in atmosphere. Would probably try this place again because it is just that good. But would hope to find a more welcoming environment.

Initial post 2 years ago: We were just passing through and saw the road signs for BBQ and decided to give it a try. So glad we did! Everything was cook very well. the rub used was on point- several sauces choose from. between the 6 of us (2 adults 4 kids) we had the ribs, brisket, shredded pork, and ham- all of it awesome. would totally recommend the sugar footer. Bake beans were a hit for all of us. we had a mix of the taters and fries- both were great, my favorite was the taters. Recommend this...

I have been coming to Sugarfoot for many years and I can attest to how delicious the food is. I genuinely crave their cheeseburger from thousands of miles away, multiple times a year. However, the service here is always incredibly mid. Anytime I ask for something I am left feeling stupid and bothersome as the staff seems to get irritated anytime you request anything at all. Additionally, it is alarming how consistently unprepared they are. For example, I just dined in the restaurant this Saturday afternoon where they were a bit more busy than usual (Saturday afternoon rush), and they were out of pretty much everything in terms of topping for burgers. They advertise that the sandwich comes with lettuce, onion, and pickles, and we were just given two minuscule shreds of lettuce per person. When my mother went to the counter to ask for onions, the staff told her “Yes we have onion, but we would have to cut it up and I can’t do that right now.” As a paying customer, it’s incredibly frustrating to experience this type of treatment, and I think it would benefit the restaurant a lot if they would prepare more in advance for an incoming busy day and remind their staff how customers...

Someone give the young lady at the register a day off! - She worked 9/25/21 at the front register around 1:15 in the afternoon.

My family and I decided after a long drive we’d stop into this “legendary bbq” restaurant and I have to admit, we were pretty stoked about all the hype. When we walked in, the smell was amazing and it was difficult to decided what we wanted. When we finally decided to place our order, the young woman (whose name I did not catch) was an absolutely peach (this is sarcasm). Not only did she not greet us, but she made us feel absolutely stupid when we tried to ask about certain menu items. I think she may have been having a rough day or something - we’ve all had those, but unfortunately it just set an unpleasant mood in the air during our lunch which was very unfortunate since the food was delicious! Food AMAZING. Recommend the Burnt Ends. Service - could have been way better. The food for me is the only reason I’m making this 3 stars. If it wasn’t for that, I’d rate much lower because of the disappointment in the management choice to put her on the register. Also would have tipped if we at least would have heard the words “thank you” from her. Such a...

Here's the other 5 ☆☆☆☆☆ you deserve! What a great lunch! I didn't get to try any of the ribs, coz hubby ate then all. THEN he told me how good they were LOL. I had the BBQ pork sandwich with your special BBQ sauce. It was SO GOOD that he went in to get more for us to take home (now I'm thinking he shoulda got at least 2 more ;-) ) My BBQsporkandwich was GREAT! But the potato salad and slaw!!!! OMH those were THE BOMB! It was SO good! I love horseradish so I feel in love with the coleslaw. But the POTATO SALAD!!! Best i EVER had! I wish we lived up there because I wish I had some now. What a happy accident it was that we had to pull over at that moment. We weren't even planning to eat till we smelled it! I wish someone would sneak me the recipe coz I don't know if I'll ever get there or find it again. Everything about it all was great. Generous portions, everything the right temp. I wish I had more right now! I'm just hoping we get back there. SOON! I want it all right now, again!!! ♡♡♡♡

First off I love that the owners must be Christians and support the CMA’s (Christian Motorcycle Association). I opted to go with the 1/2 chicken and 1 side. Chicken was smoked with a house made dry rub. Dry rub was coated on chicken a bit heavy for my likening however the flavors were great. Chicken was moist and had great flavor throughout. The establishment has two house sauces one is a sweet and Smokey sauce and the other is a “Caribbean Fever” it’s a thick marinade/sauce with hints of Citrus and Jerk seasoning. It was incredible with the chicken. The side of the house potatoes were fried fresh and seasoned great. I’m from Georgia and their sweet tea was just not sweet enough for me so we moved onto Coke products. Dessert was a homemade blackberry pie that was incredible just look at the crust below, WoW! Overall great place, great location, great atmosphere. Staff was young and just not really enthusiastic or eager to answer establishment related questions.

I ordered a three meat plate on this visit. Burnt -ends and Ribs were ok . Burnt -ends were tastefully smoked but a bit shredded and had a 'pulled' look and feel to them. The Ribs were good and smoked well. The Sausage did not appear to be smoked at all which was a little disappointing but they were juicy. Last meat was ham which was incredibly thinly sliced and no smoke line was present, didn't taste like there was any either. Potatoe Salad appeared to be hand made and tasted good like, worthy of attending a picnic. The BBQ beans on the other hand seemed to lack the Sugarfoot touch but I ate them anyway. Tater Tots are not the tradition tots one might think of but they were good and great for dippin in their hot sauce which was the perfect line between sweet and spicy. On another positive note the restaurant manager came by to check on us about our order and everything was there and served hot so that was a good start.
