Captain Jims is always a stop of ours in Gibraltar! This fun bar offers indoor and outdoor seating as well as plenty of good times! Draft beer, cocktails, wine, they have it all! You now can also order food from the restaurant across the street and bring it to Jims. We ordered the club sandwich and enjoyed it. Staff are always super friendly and let us sample the different draft beers! Our favorite spot to sit is alongside the canal

Stopped in for the first time on a Monday night for music bingo. It looks newly remodeled with a nice rustic vibe. Food was pretty good - especially the cheese bread! Parking was limited though. If they had parking in the center of the lot, they’d have a lot more spaces!

This place is amazing, in the summertime Friday and Saturday nights are full of people A lot of younger but it's a good mix. You have a pretty good menu check it out.

Border line dive bar. Building is a pole barn, cement floor. Bathrooms are 4 individual unisex.

Tried it twice. The first visit was okay, and the waitress was great. The Hawaiian Turkey was actually excellent on that trip.

Prices are good, and the service is average. Can be slow to get drinks and the check.

But...second visit is why I can't recommend to friends. They can't make an old-fashioned...worst thing I may have ever tasted with alcohol! Came in a barely filled plastic cup and tasted like grapefruit juice.

Patty melt, and the wife's burger lacked any flavor. Was very odd. Like a frozen Sam's Club patty.

French fries were so disgusting! A small handful for $3 and smelled and tasted like fish. My fingers stunk until I washed them with toothpaste like I had just been cleaning fish.

If the McQuires own this place, it is nothing like the 2 Taylor bars. I guess it doesn't have to be with so few options in the area and Waterfront being sold and slipping downhill..

This is a beer drinking bar. The End.

9/19/2024 Response to owners: I know you don't serve fish. That is what was so puzzling. I have never had french fries anywhere that smelled or tasted like that. Was the oddest thing.

The muddled citrus in an Old Fashioned was the bigger disappointment.

We will try again sometime because the first visit was pretty good. FWIW My benchmark for Patty Melts is the original JPs on Goddard. Last one was...

Very cool little place. ** See below At the moment they only serve drinks but it sounds like food will be coming shortly. They had a food truck when we were there. We came from the water and tied up our boat at their docks. It's an open air bar with lots of seating. Great place to hang with friends. Winter visit update... music, TVs, and corn hole. Just need their light bar moved up so you can see tvs. As they are, you have an obstructed view from the floor when looking at tvs. Still highly recommend Captain Jim's.

**They now serve food and are in the process of remodeling. Food menu is somewhat limited but most of the sandwiches are good.

*Sounds like they are in the process of expanding their menu to include many...

I’ve been coming here for months but over time they have slowly fallen off. No beers on tap, beer orders don’t supply enough for their demand, they’ve been closing an hour or two before they are supposed to. Don’t get me started with their rock band concert that are so loud all customers have to go outside to hope they can possibly enjoy themselves. Hopefully this review gets to management so we can bring back the old enjoyable captains Jim’s we...
