So me and my wife went to this restaurant earlier this evening and ordered a steak fajita plate for two and it is clearly advertised on the menu that it is served on a sizzling pan, when we received the food it was just tiny bit sizzling and you could actually tell that it did not just come straight off of the grill especially due to the fact that it came out at about the same speed you would expect from a McDonald's fast food restaurant! I was very disappointed in that but I let it go and continued to eat my food the flavor was there but it was definitely made way before we got there and heated up! But the reason why I am making this review right now is because as I'm almost finished up eating my food I was going to let it slide the server was very friendly and did a great job with service but about towards the end of our meal there's other customers sitting there of course and next thing you know I hear a loud sizzling noise I look over and there's a steaming hot just like advertised in the menu pan with sizzling hot meat on it! I could not believe it! It made me so mad I wanted to be a Karen so bad lol😅 but couldn't bring myself to do it! But it just upset me so much to see that it was literally like what we weren't dressed good enough for them? And that's because we literally left like a 15.00 tip for this already highly-priced meal that we just got served at a low temp I wasn't going to say anything about it I was going to go on about my business type thing, still leave the waitress a tip and all until I heard and seen that sizzling hot pan come out! I've never felt in a restaurant atmosphere before that I was being judged but me and my wife both felt it! Yeah don't get me wrong we weren't wearing our Sunday Best! I had just gotten off work maybe 2 hours before we got there we were both not prepared to go please anybody else with our appearances! But I guess the price we paid was very poor food service due to our appearance I can't think of any other reason after hearing that hot sizzling plate come out! Couldn't believe it!! Just really irks me! Oh and one other thing! So we ordered an appetizer think it was chicken fajita nachos and it was pretty good! What threw me off about it was about halfway through it after our order was placed for our main meal a guy comes up and gives us a ticket and says oh just whenever you're ready no rush! And I was like um okay? And then my wife looks at it and she's like yeah this is just for the appetizer and more like what? Shortly after the food comes out again as I said before way too fast for that particular meal and he comes with another ticket and my wife was like well do you think you can combine them? I'm telling you of all the restaurants I've ever been to in my life I've never had that happen before they obviously do something differently there I don't know how to take it but the fact that they brought out two different tickets one after the other it was like what the? That added to the non sizzling plate I feel like they must be related somehow but either way very very disappointed I'll make sure if I ever go there again that I work on my appearance and hopefully I'll get the same service that other customers...
Read moreI just found my favorite dining establishment in rural Lee County! This quaint little restaurant reminds me of the TV show Alice. Lots of smiling, friendly faces, who, even though you've never met them feel like you've known them for a long time. The lunch special on Thursday was Steak or Chicken Fingers and a side. I ordered the four piece platter which was almost more than I could handle for lunch. It was fresh, hot, homemade and delicious. It also came with a piece of complimentary cake for dessert (only while it lasts).
The regular menu is quite extensive with something for everyone. I'll definitely be going back to try some of the other offerings. Next time you drive through Lexington on Hwy 77 be sure to stop at Granny's. You'll be...
Read moreThe food is delicious and the atmosphere is so relaxed and friendly. Our favorites are the catfish a la Mex, shrimp a la Mex and the steaks! The grilled veggies and boiled squash are deliciously seasoned sides, Migas and the Edi Special are excellent for breakfast or anytime. We've never had anything here that's bad and we've been coming for 10+ years.
Mr. & Mrs. Guzman (the owners) and all of the staff are so wonderful. Good, good people who give so much to the community. You will be treated wonderfully here whether you are a local or just...
