I hate to give a family business such a bad review but I must be honest. I don't want others to make the same mistake we did. Usually we just go to Burger King because we know what to expect and it's consistently pretty good and quick. There's not many choices to eat in the whole town so we though we'd broaden our horizons this one trip.
When we got there it wasn't very busy. Maybe one other family seated. But we waited forever at the front when we arrived. It appeared one lady was doing everything, seating, waiting tables, cleaning tables, cashiering. Finally we got to sit down. The menu looked ok but prices seemed kind of high. Every step of the way took forever. It probably took about an hour to finally get our food. What a bland boring disappointment. I feel like the meal was 75% bread. My husband ordered a antipasto salad and it was so boring. Just iceberg lettuce, and a few thin slices of lunch meat and a couple olives. He was still starving. I had a sandwich which was a lot of bread, and very little meat and cheese. Mostly shredded lettuce and nothing on it. I honestly don't remember what my kids had. But for the four of us it was around $60. It was boring and mostly bread. I feel like that's how they kept their food costs low by filling up the dishes with bread which we really don't even eat. I think they even brought bread to the table before the meal. I feel sorry for the business because they obviously aren't making a huge amount of money due to they are in a small town with not much traffic. But it is evident how they are trying to cut costs to survive. Unfortunately we will not be back. I hope they can get it together so they can...
Read more9-14-2025 update- made a second visit today. Sadly this serving of Fettuccine Alfredo was not nearly as good. It had no smell, was not hot, and tasted of dairy cream, and not much parmesan or butter. I had to use most of the table shaker and butter meant for the bread to make any semblance of a decent dish. The fries were good, the beer cold, which is the best I can say about the meal. Definitely not worth the 52 mile trip to eat here. Disappointing!
prior review
I had passed by this place several times on the way to Yuma, CA and MX. I was always curious as to what level of quality the food here might be. This town is not very big, and most times is just a short stop to stretch my legs and grab a soda, maybe fuel up before heading on to other places.
I finally stopped in to try out the cuisine for early lunch and discovered a cozy SW atmosphere inside; clean, cool and not pretentious. Ordered the Fettucine Alfredo, which took the appropriate time to prepare. While I waited the smell of the other guest’s dishes wafted through the air, tantalizing the senses. This is not a fast food, fast paced, big brand-named place, and it shows. The staff was pleasant and attentive.
When the dish arrived, it was served on wide white bowl, steam still rising over the generous serving of creamy white sauce and pasta. The taste and textures were excellent, a smooth creamy sauce that was not over-salted, flavors were well balanced, and the tagliatelle pasta was done to perfection. I savored every bite.
Based on this experience I will be stopping in again and can heartily recommend...
Read moreWOW WOW WOW!!! was passing through by force (on the way home to Phx) and we saw this restaurant on the I8/hwy85 connect. Starving, so we needed to eat. Walked in, didn't expect much, then we started hearing an authentic Italian accent from one of the employees, then we got our VERY fresh side salads, then our TO DIE FOR fresh beyond fresh dinner and AMAZING bread. To say we were impressed with the food is an understatement. It's reasonably priced and my only regret was being too full to sample a dessert. We live in the north Phoenix area and frequent amazing restaurants in Scottsdale and Paradise Valley and this place could easily put many of our usual haunts to shame. You would not expect this kind of quality and superb taste in the middle of no where on a connection between highways. It's a little over an hour away from where we live and we will most definitely be making an intentional drive back to Gila Bend to eat here. Well done Little Italy! You definitely deserve the amazing ratings that you...
