So do not park your vehicles near any rat mounds and do not throw any food around your camp ? There are rat mounds everywhere and they will be looking for food around your camp ? If you have a small dog keep him close by you ? They might survive a one on one but even a medium dog can not win against a pack of coyotes ? That's the way they hunt ? Some time back I was at cactus forest BLM and I saw a note that a person was looking for their two small dogs so be very careful and a close eye because there are several coyote packs at this camp ground ? They are barking right not ? Rattle snakes no problem early spring I ran into three in one day so just mind yours and they will mind theirs ; they are only looking for rodents ; do not make them angry because their little sensory tough will not forget you if they leave angry ; most of the time if you are bitten by an adult snake it might be a dry bite " their venom is for their small rodents and they know that you are to big to swallow but the baby rattlers will bite and give you both fangs of a full dose of poison ? So if you see an adult snake let him crawl away calmly and that's what he will remember " a no threat ; I have handled every kind of rattle snake and have tamed many large diamond back reds and they see me as no threat and we are friends for life ; for twenty years I have handled and lived with rattle snakes and I have never gotten bit ; even if I had a little battle with one in catching him they always give me accident for give ness and we become the best of friends ?The owls and snakes will protect your vehicles from the rats ? This is sort of a landmark for this little town. It has been featured in/on Arizona Highways magazine and the tv show. That fellow who used to do the old highways and byways show on Sunday mornings featured here too. Anyway, the food is typical cafe food( patty melts, club sandwiches, chili, milkshakes, KILLER french fries) but served with small town charm. The servers look like a bygone era, but they really know Arizona, so dont hesitate...
