If you’re anywhere near this part of Texas—or even if you’re not—do yourself a favor and make a trip to Nobody’s T&K Pop Up Grill and Cafe / Latonya Soul Food Kitchen Catering. This place is truly a hidden gem and one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had.
The food is nothing short of phenomenal. Every single meat we tried was perfectly cooked—so tender, juicy, and full of smoky, savory flavor that you can tell comes from true passion and skill in the kitchen. The mac and cheese deserves its own standing ovation; it’s rich, creamy, and absolutely unforgettable. And the smoked pie? Let’s just say it has officially changed my entire life. I’ve never tasted anything quite like it—it’s a must-try that alone is worth the drive.
Beyond the amazing food, what really sets this place apart is the atmosphere and the people. The owners are some of the kindest folks you’ll ever meet. They treat you like family from the moment you walk through the door, making the entire dining experience feel warm, genuine, and full of Southern hospitality.
The café itself is small, casual, and unpretentious—no fancy frills here, just a cozy, homey vibe that makes you feel instantly comfortable. It’s the kind of place where you want to linger, chat, and soak up the good energy (and the delicious smells coming from the kitchen).
I would happily drive two hours from Dallas just to eat here again—and I absolutely plan to. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you love incredible food made with love, served by wonderful people, in a place that feels like home, this is your spot....

Once you walk in, you're hit with the smell of smokey BBQ goodness. The place is quaint, with no frills and an honorable table for MIA/ POWs as you enter.
The owner/chef/all-in-one, Latonya, is the kindness, most welcoming soul you'll ever meet! We had the pleasure of her company while we enjoyed her home cooked love on a plate. Hubby had spicy links with baked beans, and I had smoked chicken with beans and candied yams and sasparilla.
She is the REAL thing!! I would give her 10*'s if it were possible. Her food, value, hospitality, and sense of love and service to her community is hard to find today.
Thank you for a wonderful lunch date! We honor you, your service, and ALL those who served. May you continue to be blessed in all you do.

Read moreFound this little gem a few days ago after looking for antiques. They serve barbecue with soul food sides. Homemade Smoked Alligator sausage is fantastic. Mashed potatoes were smooth creamy and well seasoned. Pinto beans were excellent as were the falling off the bones baby back ribs that the wife had. Homemade lemonade hit the spot on a 95 degree day. Located inside an old gas station, this place is spotless. The Veteran couple owners, who get up early to get the pits going, are interesting to talk to. At $18 per plate, excellent value.
