The chicken fried steak was excellent although for the price it was a little on the small side. It comes with two sides and they have a board which shows you which vegetables are available, typically something like sweet potato fries, okra, mixed vegetables, broccoli, cauliflower and you'll have to check the board to see what they have that day. We had an appetizer of chips and salsa which were excellent. You could tell that the chips were homemade. You could also tell that the salsa was homemade and they do let you know it was made in house. The nice thing about it was that the salsa was very chunky and it was lightly salted with the perfect amount of heat but it wasn't too hot. So it was just enough to be a great accompaniment for the chips. My only issue was the price of that appetizer at $9.99 was high. This is because most places the chips are around $3.75 so with the quantity of salsa they made I could see them charging perhaps $5.99 for the entire thing. However the entire place was clean: the table we sat out was obviously clean; the floor was clean also and everybody commented on how good their food was, regardless of what they ordered. So I would recommend visiting this place although you may find in some cases that while the food is priced a little bit higher than you're expecting, it does come hot and it does come tasty and fresh. One last thing: the onion rings are to die for so if you want to pay a little more, they are worth it to get and they will come out just with enough batter, crispy, and the onions will snap off in your mouth: it won't be this long string that's hanging out of your mouth and it will be very crunchy, very tasty, with the right amount of seasoning in the batter to make you just feel like you've died and gone to heaven to bite into...
Read moreWaitress raised her voice to speak with a customer across the restaurant when she was 2 feet from my face. Informed her that some people have auditory sensory issues, To which she said You should expect those kind of noises in a restaurant. I was already on my way out the door I turned to her and said you just yelled in my face, And she said Well there's the door. Speaking with the manager several hours later on the phone, The waitress conspired with her regular customers to tell the manager that I cussed at her to justify her asking me to leave... Not acceptable behavior from your waitress. Keep in mind I was already on my way out the door. A simple I'm sorry I didn't realize I was yelling in your face is all that was necessary to prevent me from being upset. A complaint is always an opportunity to do better. A complaint should never be met with an argument.
But I did talk it over with the manager. manager explained to me that it's a small town restaurant, and that the after 2:00 crowd is usually filled with regulars who expect that kind of service from their waitress. They want her to speak to them from across the restaurant. They would think it were rude if she didn't. I now know That if I don't wish to be subjected to that kind of behavior from a waitress, that I have to come after 4:00 p.m. when the second dining room will be open, So I don't have to sit in the main dining room and be subjected to it.
Some people just want to have a nice quiet meal. If that's what you're looking for this may not be the place for you.
I do want to be clear that the service I received other than the waitress yelling a lot, And the food that I received was very good.
After speaking with a manager I agreed to alter my...
Read moreIf you are going to complain about this place having a smoking section... DO NOT EAT HERE! I Love it, the food is amazing, home-cooked meals and homemade ranch.. it's a family oriented place and the waitresses who have been working there for years are just so loving and friendly! Being a very small town they get a few sketchy employees every now an then but they don't stick around long! It’s a 24 hour restaurant except on Sunday nights. The steaks are the best.. I get them extra seasoned! Amanda is my favorite waitresses but the older ladies also do a magnificent job! This place can get busy really quick! It's small so being patient is a must sometimes. When it is busy I would recommend letting your waitress know everything you need when she's at your table the first couple times because sometimes there might be a time where she physically can't get back to your table do to attending 7 other tables. Don't judge this little place when they are too busy, take the time to go during a not so busy day and I promise the experience will be 100 times better. If you've never worked in the restaurant industry long enough don't leave a nasty review based off of a one time experience. I go to this restaurant at least twice a week. My experience is different everytime. They serve breakfast, lunch, and...
