Of all the subway shops i have been to throughout the United States i have never ever had such horrible service in my life from attitude, rudeness, blaten theft, lazyness stale bread & rock hard bread. This was my first & last visit I every have at the subway in gladdtone. I went in om Thursday April 24, 2025 @4:35pm. There was no other customers. And older women was behind the counter & a younger lady the older female coldly asks "you have an order to pick up?" I said no, she said coldly "you use the app" again I replied no she then ignored me, I ask do you still make the spicy Italian sandwich, she replied only wheat or white. Confused I repeated my question & she repeated hers. I apologized that she must have miss understood my question & repeated I just would like to know of subway still makes the Italian or spicy Italian sub. Pissed off she say YES! It's called the hot shot now it's only o white or wheat bread. So I requested a footlocker hotshot on white bread, & a 6inch outlaw steak on white, I noticed right away there were just a few pieces of bread in the racks, she asked me if provolone was OK, I asked if she had American? Her response was do you want onions & peppers grilled with your meat I said yes, the sandwich comes out of grill, with no onions or peppers, when she begins the hotshot I requested if she could please dice up some of the sliced onions as my husband cannot eat the sliced or he will choke she replied no we can't its to difficult surprised I was OK, she then picked up some onions & making a big tado about trying to rip them apart in the air about face level. I was disgusted & said never-mind I only asked becsuse I've never had an issue before as any subway I've been to. Another customer comes in and says she had a pre-order platter for pick up the other girl says she needs to change the soap dispenser although her hands are completely covered in suds she then grabs a pairing knife grabs about 4 slices of onions & says she can try to cut some l said thank you but nevermind I would never have asked if I had it was such I inconvenience, I'm now at the register & a younger, very skinny girl tells me my total is $16.84 but the register is saying $20.20 when i asked why she says I dont know so i imed. Hit the cancel button & tell her to please re ring up my purchase she does only this time a tip screen pops up to choose an option the choices are in all white background & black letters finially I notice in a thin darker Grey strip with black letters (not immed. Noticable) o bottom. Of screen the choice of no tip, I tap that & hear a small uh type sound from cashier & the correct dollar amount shows up. Basically the cashier has perfected when to hit a tip amount herself so it never appears on the customers screen. She had automatically hit to include a 20% tip. This is theft! & when I left the woman who came I just to pick up her pre-ordered platter was still waiting to recieve get order with 3 employees on staff. Fri. A nice regular employee yo an rude obnoxious employee who appeared to be the boss to the thief at the register who without a blink tapped to include a tip without informing the customer & was so quick & proficient from practice the screen never shows up on the customers end. The customer only sees a flash of what looks like a possible glitch that fixed itself all in less than a fraction of a second. If I had not been looking at the screen, I would have missed the glitch, if I had blinked I would have missed it. I do NOT recoment this place to anyone but if you do go...make sure that tip screen shows up if it doesn't make them ring it up again & not Include their tip. This is one place that deserves to be closed down. Oh I almost forgot to add the foot long hotshot bread was stale! It crumbled & fell apart. The grilled/heated steak sandwich bread was so frigging hard when I found a spot to bite into the bread crumbled around me & actually cut the corner of my lip! The bread was so had we both took 2-3 bites & quit. A total waste of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been to this place dozens of times over the years, and I have never⦠NEVER⦠gotten a bad sandwich. They always take the time and effort to make your sandwich just how you want it, and they always make sure you're absolutely certain about your selections before moving on to the next part of assembly. And of course, the prices are perfect! I miss the Five-Dollar Foot-Longā¢, sure, but six bucks for my preferred sandwich (the Spicy Italian) isn't bad!
The people are always really great and there's only been one time that I've ever had a bad interaction with someone, there. Otherwise, they're as friendly as you are and always open to a small amount of chit-chat during slow hours. (I usually go in during the early morning.)
It's worth mentioning, they recently renovated this specific Subway. It used to look like a 2000s Subway sandwich shop, but now it looks completely up-to-date with all the other chain shops I've seen. And honestly? I'm kind of digging it. The atmosphere was never bad, but with the new lighting and the lighter colors, it somehow feels even more cheery than before!
If you happen to be cruisin' on US Route 2 in the Upper Peninsula, heading to Escanaba or Rapid River, and you want a delicious sandwich done right by friendly, attentive people, this Subway is the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis subway is very normal, in both the food and atmosphere. The service, though? Both incredible and not so. One employee, a young man, gave me awesome recommendations and service to me and my family! One girl was respectful and kind, very normal. The other woman who was working was rude to my mom and someone else was on the phone when she answered the phone while my family sat down to eat. She didn't listen to my mom's order, got mad afterward, slammed some doors, and then hung up on another person on the phone. It was a good experience overall, minus the crusty lady behind the counter. I do not know the team member's names, but that one young guy was awesome in recommending something that made my sandwich awesome. 8/10, would...
