The Saloon — Restaurant in Gladstone

We sat down for lunch. Thought we would try something new. Was hesitant knowing the prices were a bit on the high side. Nevertheless, you never know what you're missing when you don't try new things. So when your paying basically $27.00 a person to eat. You hope for pretty close to spectacular. Unfortunately we were not impressed. The food was decent. Portions were decent. But the overall experience was meh. The server was a bit overzealous and came to the table a few times too many. Almost rushing us, only it was 1-2 in the afternoon. She was very nice but a bit much. Even with the multiple interruptions my drink stayed empty but once. Thank you, but unfortunately we may only be back to try the pizza.

To add to my post. The owner left a nice reply to my honest review. To call a customer a liar is just laughable. We ordered two entrees, one appetizer, and two drinks. The total came to $52.60. So yes it was basically $27.00 a person NOT INCLUDING the tip we also left. Don't worry with an attitude like yours we will not be back and certainly will not be sending anyone...

We went earlier in the evening on a Saturday, around 345pm-4pm and were seated right away. As it got later it started getting busier for them and customers were waiting to be seated.

Ordered pizza; Philly cheesesteak and one with pepperoni and sausage. The pizza was excellent! Great crisp to the crust, wonderful flavor. It was recommended getting the alfredo sauce on the Philly cheesesteak pizza the next time we try it.

Ordered an appetizer that was a mixture of fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks and jalapeno poppers.

Decent kids menu! My son got the Stetson Sliders, which came with 1 slider and a side of fries. The menu has a misprint when it says "sliders" as only 1 slider comes with it. We ordered a second slider as my son was still hungry after eating 1 slider.

There was an employee that went around to the tables that had kids and offered a piece of candy from a huge bucket. This was a nice gesture and my son loved it!

So me and my spouse went hear a week ago it was not a good experience when she left a review for it the owner responded he strait up called her a lier told her we do not need to come back we'll that is not a problem although the portion was huge the nachos were dry and there was no meat on them when we said something we were treated the same as in you are wrong we also had a vrisket pissa although the flavor was really good there again had hardly no meat on it and the outer crust was about 3 inshes thick.all bread. . Please do not go here any owner that would treat a customer this way I would hate to see how they treat there employees GO TO MO'S they have amazing food and I have never been treated bad there and the owner at mo's is amazing he's such a good man. The saloon is expensive and not worth the money so if the owner would like to treat me the way he did my wife that is fine you already lost our business and many others I know. God...
