This place is great! We’ve tried it twice since we moved back to the area. This place is only a 10 minute walk from our house, and that’s so cool to me. It’s awesome to see a locally-owned restaurant that you can walk or bike to, it seems like everything nowadays is so car-dependent.

The atmosphere is nothing fancy, a very small space with some outdoor patio tables. However, the service is great. Both times I’ve been, they’ve asked how my days been and even thrown in some free items to sample. It’s awesome to actually feel welcomed in an establishment.

The sandwiches are great, they use the bread from Vitale’s Bakery (they are owned by the same family). I’ve tried the Crazy Frank (okay, not my favorite), Glendale Club (good, basic), The Steve Pastrami (really good), and The Charlie Roast Beef (excellent au jus).

My only complaint is that the sandwiches are pretty bread heavy, but I just pick the bread out. Come early in the day, they sell out a ton and close early sometimes! Get a cannoli if you can,...

This is a REALLY cozy, comfy, ... Nostalgic taste that a person FROM St. Louis SHOULDN'T MISS FOR ONE MORE SECOND. Like THE Picture of the old skool delicatessens. Vitale's delicatessen is a warm and welcoming space. Where every customer will have a delicious sandwich and a friendly conversation. Premium cuts of meats and cheeses, and they're not being stingy either! I got the pastrami, and... Well lets just say, I had to loosen my belt, and break after only half the sandwich. But that was ok. Because I got to enjoy it twice. 😏🤟 So... Like I always say! "Do Not... Cheat Yourself!!! Treat Yourself!!!!!! " 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

P.S. Hey... Tell' em Stacy sent you, Y'all show me some love now. But do get you one of them samiches.

I was in the mood for a really good deli sandwich. I searched Google for a deli and of course Walmart & Schnucks delis came up but I was looking for something with a little more substance. This Vitale’s Deli came up & I’m so happy it did! My sandwich was delicious & made super fast. It was packed with meat & veggies on a giant homemade wheat roll. This “roll” was bigger than a bread bowl at Panera…so good! And it came with a side, I got pasta salad, very good. I could eat a small tub of it. The place is very small & from what I could tell there is only seating outside, mostly just takeout. I will definitely come back when...

I had a review up here earlier, and it disappeared! Well, I'm happy to write it again: This is definitely the place to eat! My hubby and and found this gem on a rare day spent exploring and couldn't resist stopping at this little corner deli. The food was incredible, but the real highlight was the staff! They were so friendly and welcoming. We ate outside on a beautiful Fall day and, as we left, the owner came out, shook my hubby's hand, gave me a hug, and thanked us for coming. We'll definitely be back!

I was looking for a deli in the area and Vitale’s did not disappoint. The owner made me feel like we’ve known each other for years. His staff was extremely courteous. I tried the Pete. It was a well balanced sandwich. The only thing I would’ve had was mustard. I highly recommend you stop by and support a great local business.
