J & J Chinese Cafe — Restaurant in Glendive

Traveling and wanted something different than fast food as we were staying the night in Glendive Mt. Saw good reviews so we choose J&J Chinese Cafe. To be honest - wish we would have eaten fast food. We ordered sweet n sour chicken (too much batter and tasted off like it was in freezer too long or something), pork egg fu young (no veggies and just totally not good), pork fried rice, no veggies but 2 peas in quart container and was so dry could not eat). If this is what some reviews I read said it was the best in the area I want to taste the worst. No where authentic chinese food. Would not recommend. Was takeout only when we went. If you go inside you'll see why. It is rundown and needs a lot of renovating. Hopefully they can make that happen one day. The lady was blunt but helpful. We ordered 2 special combinations. One was beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, and an egg roll. The other same but Mongolian beef. Unfortunately the Mongolian beef wasn't very good, lacking flavor and really salty. Same situation with the beef and broccoli. The breaded chicken was kinda soggy if not an oil sponge unfortunately. Not sure how this place has gotten such good reviews, but I have not been impressed. The generals chicken, as well any of the other fried chicken dishes, is simply popcorn chicken deep fried in old grease and coated with sauce.
