Ari's Little Italy Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Glenwood

My family loves this place, but I have never cared for it. I thought I would give it another chance today and order something that wasn’t Italian. I ordered a ribeye. It was $27.95 and included a ribeye (I would guess about 6-7 Oz), salad, and grilled veges. I ordered Caesar dressing in the side and I’m glad I got it in the side. It was too sweet for Caesar dressing and not good at all. I then asked for ranch which was good. When my steak came, it was obviously not a ribeye. It was more like a cheaper cut like a strip or sirloin. I cut it in small pieces and I had to spit out every single bite because it had grizzle, was tough, or had a bone chip. I asked for it medium well and it was very well done. I only ate half my steak and gave the other half to my husband. The pic is how much I had to spit out that was too touch or grizzly to chew, and that was just for half the steak This is not what I expected for this type of restaurant. The red pasta sauce is not impressive. It just taste like Ragu or Great Value spaghetti sauce. It may not matter to some people, but the plates looked really cheap…..and familiar. I looked at the bottom and they were from the Dollar Tree. The tables are very crowded and the waitresses had to squeeze by. You felt like you were going to knock food off someone’s table when you walked by. It was very loud in there. You had to talk very loud to hear each other speak. The ambiance was not typical for a high end Italian restaurant. On our last visit, we sat by the bathroom and all you could smell was a poop smell coming from the restroom. It made me gag and...

I don't know how people have left a bad reviews on here because this place is amazing! The red sauce for the rolls is definitely not Ragu! I can't stand Ragu. They obviously make it themselves. The house salad dressing is perfect! Please don't change it!!! I don't know who would want to put sugar in that because it would totally kill the taste. Yes it is tomato and vinegar based. Don't get it if you don't like those. The sweet tea was just right. We got the stuffed mushrooms and they were amazing even though I don't like crab. I used my rolls to get the rest of the sauce off the plate. Every Italian restaurant I go to I always get Chicken Piccata. At the first bite I was a little stunned because the sauce was thick. It had a very pronounced the lemon flavor and not a lot of capers. I guess I'm used to watered down sauce but this was amazing! It also came with a lot of chicken. My spouse got a Gyro and fries. The fries were the right amount of crispy and perfectly seasoned. I'm mad I can't just drive over there to get some more because I live 200 miles away. The Gyro was perfectly seasoned and came with tomato, onion, lettuce and the right amount of tzatziki. The decor was cute, minimal & everything was very clean. I have OCD and cleanliness is the first thing I look for. They even wipe down the menus! I saw a review where somebody was charged $45 tip. That didn't happen with us. I feel like Ari’s Little Italy has been going down hill for awhile now but today was the last straw. We came in after lunch so it wasn’t very busy AT ALL. We were sat and our waitress checked on us a total of two times while we were there for our 40 minutes of waiting. 30 of those minutes waiting on our food. After we had already ordered we were told they were out of ranch. Well if I’d known that I wouldn’t have gotten what I did get. So awesome. The service was horrible to say the least. And the amount of time we had to wait on our food was even worse. Not one, but TWO tables came in after us were sat, received their food and left all before we had even gotten our food. We ended up getting our food Togo because we couldn’t sit there and wait all day. Ari rushed by once and said “sorry” and gave us a free cheesecake but didn’t make up at all for how our experience was. When I paid I went on and told him how it really sucked waiting that long and having two tables come in after us and had already finished their meals and left before us also and he didn’t say a word. He just stood there and proceed to check me out. This is where I would think he would say he was truly sorry what happened but no. Not a single word.
