I work near the area and my family came to meet me for lunch. We were excited to try a Thai restaurant on this end of town. When we went in we were greeted right away which was nice. The server was very friendly and seated us in a booth and gave us menus. My 2 year old daughter was with us as well and she asked us of we would like a high chair. That was very nice. We didn't have to wait long until someone came to take our order. We told the server our order: thai noodle soup, pad see ew with tofu and lastly fried wontons. First dish thay came out was fried tofu. Something we did not order. We flagged down the server who seated us and I told her we did not order fried tofu. She said she'll go check with the other server and left it on the table. She came back out and asked me what I ordered. I said fried wontons. She tries to make a point that the other server must have heard me say fried tofu. Okay, I get that but I simply read it like how it is written on the menu...fried wontons. She seemed very annoyed because I happened to say fried wontons and not cream cheese wontons. And it's the server's job to repeat the order back to the customer. (I've waitressed in restaurants before and this is a must) I understand that mistakes happen it's no big deal but after that service went downhill. No one came to refill our waters and no one stop to ask to see how our food was. It wasn't even busy. Now, I grew up in St. Paul where there is a plethora of Thai, Lao, Cambodian and Chinese restaurants so I know what authentic Thai food tastes like. My pad see ew did not taste like pad see ew at all. Huge disappointment. It tasted like chow fun. My husband (huge thai noodle soup lover) had thai noodle soup which was also a big let down. The broth had a hint of curry. The only positive takeaway from this experience was that my daughter loved the (as tiny as they were) wontons. That's the only reason for my 2 star rating. I agree with another reviewer that if you have not had much Thai cusine before you probably will like the food and give it a generous star rating. We still left a generous tip but will not be bringing our business here again due to the...
Read moreDO NOT ORDER ONLINE FROM THIS PLACE. THEY ARE ALWAYS SUPER LATE! Happened AGAIN and AGAIN! I ordered online, arrive at my scheduled pick up time (actually 15 minutes past my pick up time) to be told it’s not ready yet. Then lied to as they said it will be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived 30 minutes later and found out they haven’t even started. I like the food here, but this will unfortunately be my last time ordering or recommending this place to anyone. Especially if you have kids expecting to eat dinner or lunch at scheduled times. No body can have a whole family waiting 2hrs after the scheduled time to eat.
Added after reading ‘owners’ comment/response to my post above.
I did not cancel, I said I was thinking about it since it was already delayed/not started and it will take 20 minutes. I never cancelled my order/nor did I receive confirmation that my order was cancelled at the time you quoted. It was only cancelled when I deliberately came back and spoke to the manager who then refunded the $70 order.
The other orders were under my wife’s name (Andrea B) and you will see the multiple orders we placed here were LATE.
I’m just trying to give you guys honest feedback to improve your business. Sounds like you don’t appreciate my service or care less if I ever come back there again ‘speaks volumes’ about how you truly care about your customers and your response just reaffirms my decision to not recommend this place. Sad. I really liked it here, however there are other Thai food places near by that has better customer service and will earn my friends and...
Read moreFour friends and I ate here for a Sunday lunch. We thoroughly enjoyed both the food and dining experience and look forward to returning!
There were a few other groups of diners but it was otherwise pretty quiet. Our server and the other staff were very attentive and provided exceptional service. As a vegetarian, I was very grateful that their menu clearly stated which entrees contained fish sauce and if the item could be prepared as vegetarian. They had an extensive menu and most of the menu was vegetarian or vegan friendly. The restaurant was very clean and orderly.
We ordered three appetizers: curry puffs, cream cheese puffs, and vegetarian spring rolls. The first two were very good. I feel that the vegetarian spring rolls were underwhelming. Mostly lettuce in a rice paper wrapper. I've had far better vegetarian spring rolls at other restaurants that included carrot, bean sprouts, mock duck or tofu, etc. This was my only complaint about the entire meal.
Our group got the squash curry with tofu, masaman curry with mock duck, pineapple curry with chicken, seafood pad Thai, and prik khing curry with tofu. Everyone was very pleased with their food and the spice levels were perfect for our group (which includes spicy food lovers). If you're sensitive to spicy food, I don't recommend that you order anything hotter than medium. One of my friends is from Singapore and has traveled extensively, and he said the pad Thai was some of the best he's had in the twin cities.
I highly recommend...
