Multiple unfortunate issues 1. Food descriptions weren't very accurate: the server said the whiskey sauce was sweet, however it was extremely spicy and induced a reaction in my husband who has a food allergy to capsaicin (found in peppers). He couldn't eat the sauce, but the burger was cooked medium well as ordered. 2. When the remade bacon burger was brought to the table it was so raw it was cold and bloody instead of cooked as ordered and had to be returned again. At that point my husband gave up. 3. The drink from the bar was horrible. The bartender said she realized after she made it they were out of their "diet cranberry soda" and that's why it wasn't right, which may have been the case if that was indeed an actual ingredient in the drink I ordered. 4. However, a fully stocked bar (and a bartender who doesn't hesitate when asked if she can make a certain drink) would lead patrons to presume competance. 5. Finally, regardless of these issues and a mediocre review, the owner (?) made excuses and suggested we find a different establishment should we find ourselves in town again. Sarcastically claiming "small town" establishments can't live up to visitor expectations is a a disservice to all patrons and simply an acceptance of poor standards.

Read moreWe went this past Saturday night. We got there about an hour before 5PM so we couldn’t order the steak yet, although we didn’t get our meal until about 5:15. We had the jalapeño and pickles appetizer and the batter on them was just perfect. They were cooked crisp and exactly like we enjoy them. My husband had a house salad with blue cheese and he didn’t have any complaints at all. He ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf with the roasted potatoes and I got the rosemary chicken and roasted potatoes. I do not like meatloaf at all, however, I actually like the bite of meatloaf that I had from the restaurant. It didn’t have as much ketchup as a lot of people put in meatloaf, which is probably why I liked it so much and the meat tasted like a better quality of beef was used. The chicken was moist and delicious and there were two pieces. I barely got through one piece. It also had wilted spinach and tomatoes with a sea salt which was very good also. The roasted potatoes were great they were just really dried out and needed something like some truffle oil or Parmesan cheese sprinkled on them to give them a little bit more flavor. We definitely plan to go back again because we want try their...
Read moreGot to check out Southside Tavern during our long drive. Prices were a little steep for a small town restaurant but the plates were big and super filling. They definitely didn’t skimp out on the portions! The wait time was really long to get our food but they do have it on the menu that their wait times are longer than normal due to making everything fresh. Thankfully we were not in a rush, I wouldn’t recommend it if you are wanting to be in and out. Our starter was the garlic cheese curds, I’ll give them a 8/10. My son got a bacon cheddar burger and gave it a 8/10, my husband got the road runner and gave it a 9/10 and I got the juicy pig sliders (I think that’s the name not 100%sure) and I’ll give them a 7/10. My only complaint about the sliders was that the pulled pork was a little more on the drier side. Overall it was good and we had a great experience. Our waitress was super friendly, attentive and answered any questions we had about the menu. We spent $76 for all 4 dishes and 2...
