On one of our motorcycle day trips, we happened upon Fisher Street Bar & Grill in Goldthwaite, Texas, and it turned out to be a fantastic dining experience! If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend checking it out. Nestled in the heart of the historic downtown, this charming restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The menu is a delightful journey through American comfort food, featuring must-try dishes like the hickory-smoked rib-eye and BBQ that are simply mouthwatering. The pizzas are perfect for sharing, while their home-made pasta and salads provide great options for light yet satisfying meals. One of the highlights of my visit was sitting at their stunning 22-foot mesquite bar, where I enjoyed a pint of the coldest beer in town. It’s the ideal spot to unwind with friends or watch the game. If you prefer a more relaxed vibe, the enclosed patio is a wonderful choice for sipping on a refreshing cocktail or a nice glass of wine. Don’t miss out on their thin-sliced dill pickle spears! Served in a spicy batter with a house-made creamy jalapeño dipping sauce, they were hands down the best I’ve ever tasted. And speaking of must-orders, their hamburgers are a real treat—half-pound hickory-smoked house-ground brisket, grilled to perfection and topped with all the classics: lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onion. Absolutely delicious! Fisher Street Bar & Grill is also very accommodating, perfect for large parties and always welcoming to bikers, which adds to the friendly, laid-back atmosphere. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this spot is a true gem that you won’t...
Read moreThe third time we have been here. One of the times was for New Years Eve party. The half chicken I ordered was good, Brussels sprouts were cooked well, and salad was also good. Our issue was wait staff. Had to hint our waiter down for refills. He never came back to the table. I asked the hostess to send him, other wait staff,he still was really slow even after me chasing him down. it was a chore to get him to bring the drinks. Refills, bar orders. If he was the only staff I would be more understanding, but he wasn't. He has a runner delivering his food . The friends with us ordered drinks from the bar, it got there in time for dessert. She ordered when we placed our appetizer order. He didn't appear to be brand new either. I cleared the table and asked him for a glass of water. It never made it to the table. I went to the ladies room and saw him enjoying a conversation with other wait staff. He got a decent tip, my husband is generous, but if he had been on the ball, he would have gotten a GREAT tip. We won't be going back. The food is OK, but not worth the hassle. There are some other restaurants in town that we...
Read moreI stopped by for lunch. I have been here a handful of times when I am passing through to San Saba. This has been a great addition to the dining scene.
I had the $10 Beer and Burger special. Burger was ground on site and its a 20oz pour for the beer. Good options like grilled onions and jalapeños, but they are going to cost extra, as does cheese and fries. The total was $17. I didn’t have a problem with it but they probably could have been more clear about the fries for $3.50 not being included. The quality was very good and the burger temp was how I liked it.
On previous visits, i have had the pizza, smoked ribeye, and a wedge salad. It’s always cooked well and presented attractively.
The space itself is in a historic downtown building. They did a great job of renovating it. Looks classic. Also has a long bar with power and WiFi if that sort of thing interests you.
Servers are usually good. Today was no exception. Friendly, helpful and get the order right. They do have a sort of weird thing where you can get your own beer refills with a card to track it. It’s not bad, just different.
Overall, my #1 spot for...
