We try Ruby's again since we hadn't been there in several years. Today was slightly better. At least the food was eatable this time. The biscuits were worse than any I have had from a restaurant. They were over cooked, but then I think put in a warmer to keep them from getting cold. One was a little wet from the steam keeping them warm. They were as flat as pancakes. The gravy had a very strong sage flavor that almost made it more than you could eat. The bacon and egg sandwich was ok. We ordered it with tomato, which added much needed moisture to the sandwich. The bacon was ok, but a good flavor. The Western Omelette was the best part of the breakfast and is why the rating is a 3 star and not worse. It was loaded with plenty of bacon, ham and sauage. The eggs were slightly overcooked, but not enough to overpower the meat flavor. The service was ok. We never offered refills on our drinks. This will be the last attempt for breakfast at Ruby's.
Ordered eggs sunnyside up with sausage patties. The eggs were cooked almost well done with the white so hard I had to cut almost an inch all the way around off to eat them. The grill was too hot causing the bottom of the eggs to be scorched. The sausage patties were as hard. They looked and tasted like they had been cook early that morning and put on the back of the grill to...
Read moreAte there for the first and last time this morning for breakfast. I really hate leaving bad reviews but we just did not have a good experience. Took over 40 minutes to get our order and they just were not that busy. To make matters worse, my wife got her order and I continued to wait for mine. And wait. I guess about 10 minutes later mine finally came out.
My wife got the home fries, which I will say were very good. The scrambled eggs were average, nothing special. Wife didn't like the sausage. She said it had to be precooked. I actually enjoyed it, and thought it had a good taste regardless if it was precooked or not. The bacon was nothing but fatty, chewy strips. The country ham was good, but nothing I couldn't get at the store. The scattered hashbrowns had to be from frozen, and the biscuit, while OK, was certainly not homemade, nor very fresh.
All said, the food was definitely not worth the $21 it cost. I will say the waitress was really nice, so at least it had that going for it. The absolutely worst part of the visit, however, was watching an employee walking up to restaurant, clearly in view of customers thru the window, with a finger digging knuckle deep in her nose. She then proceeded to handle silverware that looked fresh out of the...
Read moreBeen going here for years ...it is a very family friendly place good food ...however being dislocated from home in a hotel ..when I went in to eat ...I couldnt sit in a booth which is the only place can sit comfortably because of heart pain level issues. I needed to be 2 feet from people instead of 1 foot from someone according to waitress. As booth went sit at 1 foot people as compared to only seat offer straight back rough set 2 feet from people.
Hello its 6 feet so your extra foot would make no difference..I haven't tape measured but pretty sure 6 feet rule would mean 3 set customers so maybe try to get it right if your going to do it.. Because the Effort you did take was not even according to the rules set by the Governor. All it really did was make a loyal customer go...
