My second attempt to eat here and the results are very good. The restaurant has a salad bar with a very good variety of toppings for your salad. I had the grilled salmon with mango sauce. The fish was done perfectly and the mango sauce was good. A few people around me had the fillets and they looked great. Huge selection to choose from f9r your sides. The staff was extremely friendly. My wife had the smothered chicken. I had a bite and it was good and it was not dried out. I had the risotto it was cool when it was served and had to be reheated. The risotto was so so, rather watering with just some flavor. I will order again to give it a second chance "maybe"! For dessert I tried the Key Lime pie. The pie was a definite flop. There was no tang to the pie whatsoever. Of the entire dinner the only real downfall was the Key Lime. The atmosphere is very casual yet comfortable. As I said the staff was great and friendly. We will definitely return for dinner again and even for lunch. Try the Sand Trap the food is good and you will not be disappointed. BTW, they are closed on Mondays. I'm glad I gave it a...
Read moreI recently visited Sand Trap at 12 Stones for brunch and had a mixed experience. While there were high points, there were also areas that could use some improvement. The eggs, bacon, salad, and dessert were enjoyable and stood out as the highlights of the meal. These dishes were well-prepared and flavorful, contributing positively to our dining experience. However, there were certain food items that did not meet expectations. The filet, gravy, and breakfast potatoes were a bit disappointing, as they were overly greasy and overcooked. These elements detracted from the overall meal quality and are items I would avoid in future visits. Additionally, the service was somewhat lacking, which affected the overall experience. Prompt and attentive service can significantly enhance a meal, and I hope to see improvements in this area on my next visit. Overall, Sand Trap at 12 Stones has its strengths, and I would be open to giving it another try, focusing on the dishes I enjoyed previously. With some adjustments in service and preparation, it has the potential to provide a more consistent...
Read moreThe first time I’ve eaten here, and probably the last. I do wish I had tried the salad bar though. There isn’t many of those left! I will start off saying it’s a beautiful building. The waitress was pretty good considering the heat was out and she was the only waitress working on our side, it appeared. We got the patty melts and they were out of the toast so we got it on a bun. Which, after we thought about it, it’s a double burger. lol. It was a little burned but still pretty good. The fries however, were… not sure how to explain it. They didn’t LOOK black and burned but like they were cooked in too much oil for too long. I ate a few and couldn’t bite through a few. Before you ask yourself, did we tell anyone? Yes hubby told the waitress and she offered to get us more fries. They were actively working on the heat so if you want to try a salad bar because you miss the old days,...
