Las Flores Mexican — Restaurant in Goulds

!! READ THIS AND OTHER REVIEWS AND GIVE THEM A THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE!! So I JUST finished reading the newest reviews at this restaurant and they are pretty spot on.

The food to cost ratio is bad. I've been to MANY Mexican restaurants and they don't count the amount of rice they gave you. This is new age Mexican food not the old school authentic style we older people are use to.

I saw their online prices, and the small menu prices.. which made sense.. I was given the total and paid without a care... but then it hit me...i asked the lady about the total which didn't add up.. she then the lady handed me a menu that looked super old with permanent marker edits. She said the price was X amount based on her menu.. she was $9 over from what I calculated . Call me crazy but if you act dumb you can get away STEALING MONEY from ppl if they are not paying attention.

At this point I said maybe.. maybe if the food is good I'll come back because mistakes happen right??... Not after it happened to others and me.. it's a trend NOT A MISTAKE.

NOW on to the food.. which was just okay... The chicken flautas were sad.. I felt like the chicken was taken out the freezer and never seasoned. Almost like highschool chicken. The lettuce tasted like they bought from a store bag.. like other restaurants I guess. The steak burrito was okay maybe 5 out of 10. The steak had some taste to it and it was big.. but everything else that went with it was just ok... MY highlight was the hot sauce. That was good and it really helped me eat my meal. ( That says a lot about their food)

Maybe the place needs new management. From what I read the manager really doesn't care about its customers.

Friday night, we were hungry and we wanted something quick, easy and close. We've seen Las Flores with many great reviews and decided to check it out. It's located in a strip mall so there was plenty of parking. They have colorful decorations hanging from the ceiling and the staff was very friendly. When we arrived, we were brought warm chips & salsa. Delicious!

We ordered the guacamole and chips as a starter. The guacamole was one of the best guacamoles we've ever tasted - so smooth and flavourful and we think the chips are home made they were warm and firm and delicious. Great for dipping. It was a nice sized portion, so much we couldn't finish the guacamole so we had to take it home to enjoy it later. We also ordered chicken tacos, steak tacos and a chicken quesidilla with sour cream on the side. The tacos came out HOT (temperature)! The tacos had onions and cilantro- but no cheese or tomatoes/lettuce. We got some lettuce/tomatoes on the side for an extra charge. The tacos are small -ish but good so we ordered another. The food tasted fresh, flavorful and the prices were fair. From the fresh guacamole to the perfectly seasoned carne asada, everything is made fresh.  Overall, Las Flores is a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious authentic Mexican food. We didn't give them 5 stars because there were mosquitoes flying around while we were eating (I HATE getting bit); m/b bcz they had the walk-up cafecito window opened which also let the warm air in. A little disappointed that the tacos didn't come with lettuce, tomato and cheese on them. We would definitely recommend this place and look forward...

First time trying this new restaurant. You guys exceeded my expectations. I order the carneasda nacho very big portions 2-4 can eat from it also delicious!! I also order carneasada tostada very delicious great portion and also order 3 different tacos, the al pastor was my favorite. The flavor , the seasoning and it was super juicy!!! The carnitas tacos and barbaqoua were also very delicious. Handmade tortilla and chips made fresh. This Mexican restaurant super authentic everything made fresh to order. I can't wait to try other items from your menu. 5 stars! Don't sleep on the red salsa spicy goodness!! Guys here an update after couple of months. Today I decided to order again from you guys 12/13/2024 I dont know what happen but, I am very upset! almost 10 dollars worth of just 2 tacos !! Al pastor and carnitas are my 2 favorite but Jesus the price is not worth it plus the quality of the how meat is cook, cold, and flavor is not there no more sorry... and no pineapple on al pastor. and little of meat for that price, and than $17 prices on your nachos to reduce the portion in HALF !!!
